I must say, it is laughable that anyone can claim that a country will have significantly stronger diplomatic relations with other countries due to accepting mass immigration from those countries. If any, the only reason that it will tighten their ties is by form of demographic conquest. Otherwise look at the most successful economies in the world, such as South Korea, Japan, Germany and China. These are all fairly homogenous nations, yet they have incredibly successful economies.
Rupert Mordoch promotes ethnic cleansing of the historical white Anglo-celtic majority of Australia for a personal financial agenda. he does not promote mass immigration into Australia in order to improve the living standards of the historic ethnic majority that founded Australia over 200 years ago, as he openly states that their demographic percentage should be significantly decreased, perhaps even to minority status, in order to (here it comes) Strengthen diplomatic ties with Asia.
Can you imagine Australia (or any other nation for that matter) being economically boycotted due to not accepting mass immigration from citizens of another country? That would be an absolute attack on their sovereignty, heritage and basic continuance as the nation that they are today.
Rupert Murdoch however not only open declares this about Australia, but also takes a moral high-ground by discussing the "tolerance" required for Australia to undergo this demographic transformation.
