Without being racist at all, I have to agree.  generally we have less random crime and murder as just a part of life, less disease, better social security,and tougher, spoilt women.

Yeah - I love Thai food and Indian, but not over-fussed on Korean and Vietnamese - Italian now - that's the good oil!  Middle Eastern food is OK, but not all.

Her grandfather flew reconnaissance missions in his personal Tiger Moth for the RAF in 1942 - unarmed, unescorted and unacknowledged - there's a book out about it - and after the Japanese invaded he flew by island-hopping to Australia and joined the RAAF.

I'm sorry for the generalisation. I have to admit though not all asians are like that. It's just the majority of them giving asians a bad name. The malays are generally a well-behaved bunch I believe. (Been to Malaysia for vacation)

culture allows you to transcend your race - white, African, East/South Asian, Arab, etc. It is the vehicle of mobility between race/cultures.

Culture allows you, invites you, as an individual, to transcend your race. Most people, however, have a sense of cultural solidarity that maps onto their race.  So the very few people who change culture illustrate the point. VS Naipaul, is such an example.

Class (standards) are also very important. But the size of the underclass in each culture/race is not he same. In Africa and the third world generally, the vast majority are illiterate, uncultivated. In European and European-derived societies the underclass has ben steadily shrinking due to specifically European cultural values like education, equality before the law, individual responsibility trumping group identity (ie class).


One of the best things about European/white/enlightenment culture/race is tht it i open to personal merit and individual achievement due to personal effort  in  way no other race or culture is. And foremost among European and European-derived cultures/races in this regard are the Anglo-Celtic-European, English speaking countries.

Test it and see if this s wrong.

UK, Australia, NZ, Canada, US, Ireland -  European and English speaking  - tick
South Africa, Zimbabwe, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kenya, PNG, Fiji, etc - English speaking but not European - no tick or cigar.

There are 350,000 people living in Iceland. Most of those living in the capital. It's easy to spot where the social problems are in the country in such a centralised island nation. Japan has 120 million people living on an island the size of New Zealand. Japanese have a good social structure, but it's easy to become anonymous in such a large population.

I think that what is interesting here is how some people define racism.
Racism is never (in my opinion) the ability to acknowledge fact. It is when someone carries it further and uses only race to judge another person or group.
Some people seem to think that to be non racist, you have to claim everyone is the same, there are no differences.

I think it is perfectly clear that over the last few hundred years, European civilization came into its own. It flourished, there was a period of exploration, discovery, scientific advancement. It has been the white man's turn to be top dog for quite a while now.
That doesn't mean whites are morally superior.  A civilized country that could allow or create the holocaust should remind us of that. Plus, most citizens are just along for the ride. They have been lucky to be born in a country where the living standards have been improving in leaps and bounds.

Because we live such short lives, we think things will stay the same virtually forever. But European civilization wasn't always top of the heap, and we live in a world that is changing. South Korea, China & India are forging ahead. Because of sheer population numbers, India's number of gifted students now pretty much equals the entire population of the USA.
It's not just about race, it is about opportunity. The African nations and some of the middle east-I can't see them having their time in the sun anytime in the next 100 or 200 years.

Oh, I wish I could tell you. Contributed ideas to the government (local) to help improve the efficiency of the country. Implemented practical ideas that have recently been adopted, and should help in the conservation and repairing of the Australian environment. Various other things, too. It is very much luck where you happen to have been born, or what era, for that matter.

But you ask about creating opportunities. You are right-no one outside your society is going to walk in and hand over any opportunities, you have to create the conditions within your own society. European society was aggressive, very much so in the past, but the social structure allowed for exploration, science.

The culture was right. But nothing stays the same forever and I think the culture within some other nations, Korea, China, India, Japan for eg, could see them forge ahead in the next 100 years.
We can't rest on our laurels, that's what I'm saying. ;)

Don't worry, I've been on a couple of other boards where abuse was almost an art form at one stage. I've been abused by the best in the business, anything on here will be mild in comparison. ;)
Although the worst of it was awhile back, I have to admit. Been civilized enough since then.
Personally, I am not much interested in personal abuse or slanging matches, so I won't be good value, entertainment wise.

There are about 3 or 4 others here from the same board, but I won't dob them in. ;)
