Title: Duplicate/trilicate etc Threads on the same Topic.

These are the words from Mt Sinai.

NOTE ON STARTING NEW THREADS
Jul 4th, 2010 at 11:03am
Please try to limit the number of new threads you start about the same politician. If you have three posts to make bagging the same MP for different reasons, put them all in the same thread rather than starting multiple ones. Also, please take the time to check for other threads about the same MP or topic and post in them instead.

That's how we do things at OzPolitic. It helps to keep the interesting discussions on the first page of the board rather than being bumped off the first page by a stream of 2 post threads. If you aren't getting many responses to your threads, it probably means you are starting too many and people are losing interest. The point is to start discussions and get people thinking, not to spam the board with your own agenda.

Thank you for you cooperation.

When is this going to be given effect to?

There are 4 threads in quick succession on the Greens in Politicians Suck. Is this really necessary? Is this tiny little party such a threat to the Coalition and its supporters that they need to trash them every 5 minutes?

Take away the Greens and there will be no-one standing in front of a runaway bulldozer and it could be heading in your direction.

Yes it's stupid, but heaven forbid a thread be deleted.  That'll just lead to more threads being created about "censorship" and "bias".

They can be merged, and nothing is lost or deleted.

Aussie you regularly start new threads on the same topic in the feedback board. You seem to follow the squeeky wheel strategy for getting your way.

I'll take your word for that, although I'm not conscious of it.  But, if it takes a 'squeaky wheel' to get something positive from you instead of your usual half smart, supercilious comments, it's worth the effort of making the noise.  How's it going sourcing a decent server so that we do not have this endemic page flip problem?

::)

[Edit....I've just had a look at the list of new Threads here in Feedback, and noticed how I commenced almost zero of them.  'Regularly,' you say I commence Threads here on the same topic.  Meh.  You are blind as well.     >:(]

I have a dedicated thread for reporting the page flip bug. It is pinned. As I have explained, I need to keep track of the reports in one thread to know how prevalent it is. For some reason you think it is better to start a new thread every time you see the bug. I have explained, to no avail, that this actually makes it less likely that something will be done about it. You seem to think that it is more important to advertise your special offer to me than to take advantage of the solution that is already available.

What special offer have I advertised, freediver?

Are you pissed?  *That is simply incorrect freediver.  Go and look!

>:(

As for your dedicated Thread.....no-one seems to have read it or been aware of  it..............for many months.

Of course not, because over those months you have started several additional threads about the same topic, instead of posting in the dedicated thread.

Have I? Is this the same sort of rubbish allegation as you made about me advertising something or other?  I think it is freediver.  It is rubbish.  Easy to prove me wrong with links, so let's see these 'regular' Threads I have (not) started freediver.

Enough of the personal joust, freediver.  Just fix the problem, and the Members who have been loyal to you over many years will experience less frustration.
