Title: Abbott's Abracadabra Economics Post by Greens_Win on Feb 14th, 2014 at 2:39pm
Prime Minister Tony Abbott believes a rising unemployment rate could turn around quite quickly if the government is allowed to get on with its job.
Unemployment has jumped to six per cent, its highest level in a decade. Mr Abbott said it was the job of his government to get the economic fundamentals right. “If we are allowed to get on with our job, I believe things will get better, and they will get better quite quickly,” he told Fairfax radio on Friday, referring to a decision by Labor and the Greens to oppose key government legislation in the Senate. However, he could not guarantee that jobs figures won’t bounce around month to month, noting the previous Labor government had forecast a 6.25 per cent unemployment rate by the middle of 2014. “Unemployment is a lagging indicator and the figures today reflect economic conditions that were developing in the latter half of last year,” Mr Abbott said. http://www.australiantimes.co.uk/news/news-from-australia/news-in-australia/australian-jobless-could-turn-around-quickly-abbott.htm How do conservatives paln to turn around unemployment … or was Peter Costello correct, Abbott is an economic illiterate ? |

No lecturing here … just curious if conservatives that support Abbott's abracadabra economic model know what they are supporting.
Do they? |

“Unemployment is a lagging indicator and the figures today reflect economic conditions that were developing in the latter half of last year,” Mr Abbott said.
Someone should remind Abbott that he was the PM in the Later part of last year. He has even failed excuses 101. Blame the other guy - whoops it was me. |
