Title: Unemployment Minister Post by froggie on Feb 14th, 2014 at 3:12pm
Last time (ten years ago) unemployment was this high (6%) Tony Abbott was Employment Minister.
:D He was evidently doing such a 'great' job that he was moved to Health and Aging..... :D :D |

Wasn’t the unemployment rate tipped to get to at least 6.25% some time ago? |

Year-end 2014, I believe. We'll be there well before then. |

yes, WHEN? Not January 2014. July 2014. Are you saying it's going to stay the same from now to July? I doubt it very much. And Libs revised the EOY rate at 6%. DOUBT IT! Thanks Tony, your hero. |

That was the forecast before the adults were in charge. Now it's looking like 7 plus percent by the end of the year. |

Well at least Abbott will remember his Liberal Party line on unemployment, from his last time in the job.
Repeat after Tony, "Bloody Dole Bludgers". Yes, the media will soon be pushing the dole bludger line again. What do these mean spirited buggers in the Libs do for fun, when they aren't in power? Kick dogs, tease little kids, set fire to cats? Who knows. |

There's been more than enough of this sort of rubbish already from the Right. But yes, I can see it ramping up. Must demonise the victims rather than acknowledge that they and their policies are the persecutor. We had the same scenario under Howard, when Missed A Rabbit was MoE. And a particularly dismal and punitive one, at that. |

We have pollies on between $300,000 and $500,000 a yr with generous taxpayer funded superannuation and who have made a sport out of rorting their expense accounts bashing workers on $50,000 a yr.
And the neo cons reckon that this is ok... ;D |

It's a 'given' that Abbott has only been in for a short time. No argument there. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he did say he was going to create 1M jobs in 5 years. That's 200,000 in 12 months. As he's been there for just a tad under 5 months, that approximates to about 83,333 jobs that should have been found, to date. So far approx At this point I don't like his chances of achieving his projected numbers for this year. |

Having re-posted the above, I am inclined to think that Abbott CAN possibly achieve his aim.....
If he can, with a little help from his friends, manage to see off 100,000 full-time jobs, he could employ 300,000 in his Green Army, each working 1/3 of full-time hours. There you go.....200,000 extra jobs created.... Crikey!! With thinking like that, I could end up with Credlin's job. :D :D :D |
