2GB radio host Michael Smith angry after Google blocked search access
Chris Griffith The Australian February 14, 2014 4:39PM

RADIO host Michael Smith wants the federal government to bring Google to account following a week in which the search giant blocked search access to his news website claiming it was “a known malware distributor”.

An angry Smith said the claim was defamatory and rubbish, and it was time for the government to consider laws to make Google accountable for its actions in denying access to users’ websites through search.

“Google’s market power situation has never arisen before in the history of commerce,” he said.

“Google regulates everyone on the internet, but no one is regulating Google.”

;D

Pretty simple Mr Smith.  Demonstrate you are not sending malware out, and all will be well.

But, the bloke does have shabby form.

What next - media regulation?

I wonder who the Tele will dress the Libs up as for their front page. Not Mao - that belongs to that totalitarian autocrat, KRudd.

I think Mr Abbott should be St George slaying the dragon..What a tall glass of water, and so good to see these biased search engines brought to public account.

That’s what the government is for, after all.

Thank heavens the grown-ups are back in charge.

While I've never copped any malware from their site on the rare occasions I logon
some of the stuff they broadcast is pretty vile.

My brother (yes, he's a rightie) listens to 2GB online all the time, and he's never
gotten any malware from there either.

I suspect it's either an accidental 'ban', or that someone has been having some
'fun' by lodging a complaint with Google.

EDIT: And no, the govt should have NO say whatsoever about what is, or is not
online. Or what one does or views while one is online (CP obviously excepted).

Isn't this the fellow who nearly got sacked for sexually molesting women while drunk at a Christmas party a few years ago?

I like his political commentary, but if I had been his boss he would have been sacked.

Same with John Laws and Alan Jones for not telling their audience that they were taking money on the sly to promote certain products.

To be fair they do it to everyone. Its about time they did it to someone with a loud mouth - maybe they will change their practices now.

You may be right. Over the years there's been a lot of sexual shenanigans of a straight, bent, and paedophile nature in the corridors of power.

Who was that MP who kept on having entercourse with his wife on his office desk? She admitted to it later. He just couldn't stop himself from having serial entercourse with her every time she popped her head around the door.

They shouldn't have sacked him. What a bunch of pussies the management was. Glenn Milne saved the night from utter boredom with his charge across the platform. Jesus, haven't we all been pissed in public at one time or another?

Definitely a source of viruses and cancers. Alan Jones' Cronulla hate messages proved that.

I hope that wasn't Backdoor Bob? The mind boggles! On the desk. With the door left unlocked. It would traumatise one of those Third World migrant cleaners if she happened to want to empty the bin in the office ...

Shorty? Oh no! Not another one practicing entercourse on the taxpayer's dime?! ~ and on public property too?

It's a Sodom and Gomorrah down there in Canberra. They'll all turn into Pillars of Salt one of these days.
