Title: Pensions reforms - Its about Time! Post by Billy Jack on Feb 22nd, 2014 at 11:48am
Friends them folks younger than me can do just fine at age 65. They can still get their ends up! So it is about time that them folks down there in our fine capitol reformed them pensions. Now, I don't use them pensions because I invested wisely and such, but many folks do. They are going to raise the entitlement age, and it's a good thing. Back in them Roman times, people only lived to 40 but even they got a good pension!

Well sure. And they can reform them pensions by adding a Death Date to people's birth certificates, eh ? That way, when people reach their Death Date (subject to amendment by govt. at any time, naturally) the cops arrive on the door and take the soon to die by the arms No chatter, no whining. After all, their Death Date has been clearly visible all the way through on their birth certificate. Not as if they don't know it's coming. Not as if they haven't had time to say their goodbyes and put their matters in order Then off to the Death Chambers. There'd be thousand of them being put down each day To start, they might set the mandatory Death Date at 75 years after the date of birth. Automatically stamped, that Death Date, the minute a kid was born Later, depending on which government has stuffed the budget and put the country in unsustainable debt, that Death Date could be lowered to whatever was convenient at the time. In tough times, it could even be lowered to age 45, who knows Will save a heap on pensions and of course, by then, voluntary euthanasia will be commonplace and legal. So people might choose to jump the queue and end it at age 30 or even younger, thus freeing up resources and lending even further Die young and have a good looking corpse could become the trend of tomorrow and wrinkly old people would only exist in the pages of history |

We need to keep paying pensions at age 65, even if we have to borrow the funds from the bank of chinky chonk and bankrupt the country to do it :D
Can you imagine all those happy pensioners that got their pension yet now have to live in the bankrupted and foreclosed former Australian territory that the chinky chonks auditors had to seize in order to pay back the loan they gave us to pay for the pensions ;D ... happy days ahead ;D |

only someone who spent their life pretending to work in an air conditioned office would advocate lifting the retirement age.
You try pouring concrete at 65yrs of age? |

We should just do what the greeks did and make the retirement age fifty, what possible harm could that do

And at what age do you consider people should retire? |

people are free to retire whenever they want ... There is a diference between retiring and pensions .. many who can work after 65 do so already, willingly, anyway, but to force everyone to work beyond that is ludicrous ... it might be ok for office workers, but tradesmen, miners, fishermen and a whole raft of other workers all struggle physically to make it to pension age now, pushing that age further will merely mean you work them to death |

There are many who have worked all their lives who cannot qualify for a pension because of the assets test.
Was it Bob Hawke who started tightening up eligibility for the aged pension for those with assets? |

I have no problem with an asset test on pensions, although I think it should be set fairly high, since in many 'trendy' areas $1million won't even buy you a garage,
many retirees were there long before the area became trendy |

When it comes to Hawke I will happily take a seat in the sinbin.
There is no other word I will use to describe that sell out. |

Easy place an annual levy fee on properties purchased by overseas people - that should keep the likes of Andrei quiet for a while... I genuinely doubt the truth of most of our purported 'property magnates' here - most of them can't even spell properly. HTF would they be able to sign their name on a piece of paper - let alone work out how to make it a worthwhile investment. It's all lies. "Sign Here Mr Hicks-Smith!" *signs**..."Bilyikzmiff".... |

Hawke and Menzies were the two most over-rated Prime Ministers we ever had. |

.. apart from Howard, Keating, Rudd, gillard, Abbott and a long list of others.... none of whom succeeded in staving off disaster for Australia both socially and economically.... Their greatest attributes as Prime Ministers was their unique ability to ignore simple solid solutions that worked and instead throw petrol on a blazing pyre of what was once this country... all in the name of their respective ideologies.... both of which the Australian people have resoundingly rejected to no avail, since the 'ruling class' has no demand placed on it to listen to the peasants.... |
