OPERATION Sovereign Borders has been dealt a blow, with about half of the navy’s patrol boat fleet suddenly confined to port after the discovery of major structural cracks that make them unseaworthy in rough seas.

The dramatic setback means that navy is able to provide only about half of the mandated number of its Armidale-class patrol boats to the military-run OSB as it seeks to intercept and turn back asylum-seeker boats.

Send submarines instead.

A few rowing boats might be available.

They were the Agency which assisted Australia meet its UNHCR obligations.  That is an issue I've never seen you address.

Do you have any proof to support this claim.....The vessels where criticised before the ALP where in Government and cracks where appearing in 2007.....Just as the ALP where criticised for the Collins class submarine the Coalition needs to take responsibility for their own failings!!!
