Since using union members' money to pay for prostitutes Craig Thomson has lost his reputation, his Labor Party membership and his seat in federal parliament.

On Tuesday he will learn whether it will cost him his freedom when he appears before the Melbourne Magistrates Court for sentencing.

It's quite common. It could happen to any of us.

Mr Thomson has always proclaimed his innocence in this matter, and I think we should do the honourable thing and give him the benefit of the doubt. Anything else is just a witch hunt against a man who selflessly served workers and his community for most of his adult life.

Until Mr Thomson is proved guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, I think we should take him at his word. He is a good man, a kind and helpful man who has devoted his life to helping those most in need.

I totally agree. So would many others. We're stuck with 2 parties who answer to the same global leaders who tell them which direction to take this country.

Maybe some of the little parties are despised, but you don't have to like all their policies. The Greens are my party of choice simply because of their environmental policies and their push to stop the live trade, animals being used for experiments and improving inhumane factory farming.

Neither of the major parties care about our beautiful wilderness areas nor cruelty to animals. Someone has to nip at their heels.

They dangle the pretty bauble of 'caring for animals' and 'protecting the environment' as bait to get their membership beefed up against the day when they'll reveal their true identity as Socialists who want control over people's lives.
