Heheh. Saved that one for future use (not necessarily here).

I use them sparingly, but sometimes they come in handy. You know what I hate? "xx" on the end of every text message - especially from people I don't regularly kiss. My boss's wife is really bad with this - she seems to add more of them with every text.

Wow, I never saw that almost page of emoticons in response to Aussie's request to minimize their use, roflmao.

For the main part, given the standard of a wide range of comments in this place, I often find myself looking forward to reams of emoticons and/or pictures, they might not say much better than the garbage words used, but at least they might be entertaining.

More emoticons and less trash talk would be a happy compromise.

I have noticed that a lot of people especially since they have gone all grand on us....have new names and its hard to tell if they are old new or as you say socks that are pretending to be who they are not..

one of the reasons I didnt recognise you was because there was no abuse.. almost normal conversation...I have always found it very hard to deal with you or shall I say kat... as it was all so nasty.. if someone spoke to me like you would write I would walk away... so thats what I do on the boards..I ask myself would I stay in the same space as this person.....

someone hacked someones id and started a thread, as happened wasnt bad... but it could have been..same with almost identical IDs.

George, Herbert, Gandalf, Pansi etc. are all quite obvious. There have been a few people over the years who have changed their nicks completely - probably not to be deceitful, but just hoping for a fresh start.

That's true and these pests are an exception. Most of them aren't hard to recognise though. They immediately target certain members and then their venom spews forth. Fortunately they're zapped fairly quickly.
