How many time this Season have we seen "no try" after a lazy put down to score.

Jack Reed.....Broncos........tonight ~ the latest.

Newcastle.  Tinkler quits.

Well, let's hope commercial/corporate Newcastle get behind their Club/Team.

If it was a money maker, Tinkler would still be there.

To be honest Aussie I think it is probably better without this bloke involved in the club.....He does not appear to be someone who cares about the club and has failed to meet obligations in the past.....The sport is better off without people like him having any influence!!!

:) :) :)

THREE years after he took over control of NRL club the Newcastle Knights, mining and racing businessman Nathan Tinkler has been forced to relinquish ownership of the club because of his plunging wealth and rising debt.

A statement today from his Hunter Sports Group said HSG would no longer have a role in the Knights. The company called for “immediate action to ensure a speedy transition to a new ownership model”.

The move came as little surprise as Tinkler and HSG have been battling the Knights board and Knights members club over unpaid bills and staff wages, including those of some NRL players and coach Wayne Bennett.

But the fact Tinkler has gone so swiftly will surprise some. He is a Newcastle local and supported the club before buying them in March 2011 after a landslide vote of confidence in him by club members at an extraordinary general meeting.

However, his `white knight’ presence has been tarnished over recent months as members felt he was stalling in paying bills owed by the club. Tinkler preferred to lay the blame elsewhere.
