Title: Not all 'crims' are c^%$ts... Post by El Gatto on May 16th, 2014 at 8:23pm
An interesting story from my local paper...
Link: http://www.goulburnpost.com.au/story/2281058/wanted-man-aids-hurt-cop/?cs=181 I know Trevor personally, and have done so for several years, and to be honest, I'd have expected nothing less of him. Yes, he's a 'crim', but being a criminal doesn't necessarily mean you lose your humanity. He was being arrested, and could easily have 'bolted' but stuck around to help the other officer render first-aid to the injured cop. **Bring on the abuse...** |

Shyt, I'm surprised you're not all over this like flies on a turd....
If not to denigrate him, then to abuse me for supporting him.... |

Not really a "crim" as you are trying to make out. He was to be arrested because his dog bit someone.

A crim is someone whose chosen method of earning money on an ongoing basis is illegal.
It's a lifestyle choice. At the expense of society. |

Fair enough, fellow treadly-man. But can you deny that Trevor did the right thing, when he obviously had the choice and the option not to? |

His dog bit a copper and then he saved one after an accident.....The two incidents show he has more respect for police than his dog....I am surprised the dog was not destroyed though??? :-? :-? :-? |

My point is that just because you're a 'crim' (and Trevor's criminal history goes well beyond a couple of dog bites) it doesn't follow that you have to be a scumbag. BTW, I know, and am on friendly terms with 'Spook' and he is NOT a vicious dog. Far from it. He does NOT 'bite' and is not savage, by any means. So why would he home in on ONE particular cop? Twice? |

Police in NSW are to be issued Police Attack Cats (Los Gattos) as a measure to prevent officers being bitten by dogs.... the Attack Cats are based on a model from the United States... as recently shown on international television. A police spokesperson says the cats will be carefully trained and will represent no danger to the public. It is understood the Pentagon is looking into the idea of Predator/Reaper Attack Cats to take out terrorists..." |

Really? Lived there, have you? Try it some time. Only a small city, but has most things you'd want from a big city except the crime rate. Population is only around 25,000. Yes, we have crime, but it's negligible compared to the bigger towns.Wagga and Dubbo, I'm looking at you here. Both are towns, not cities, but have three times our population, and a crime-rate to match. I wasn't born or grew up here, but transferred here due to a promotion when I worked for the NSW railways around 35 years ago. I seem to have adopted the place as 'home' as it has adopted me. I'm lost when I return to the town of my birth and childhood. Google Goulburn, and have a look. It's no shithole, far from it. If you've never been here, don't dump on the place. |

Sorry about the contract - reports coming in are that the Cats will not be used for drug sniffing since they are too prone to ecstasy when sniffing catnip... and the view of experts is that this could be used to confuse Sniffer Cats.... Goulburn! Home of the biggest police station in the Southern Hemisphere... they should have a Giant Baton at the town entrance o a Giant Pig or something.... but I wish they'd put a connection to the Tarago Road from the damned freeway - I sometimes come home that way and traveling through Goulburn is a pain... Aaaggh - riding into Goulburn one day on me bike - a bee got under my helmet and bit me - left side right near eye - swelled up to buggary.... bee died - sorry 'bout that. |

Spook never bites, but bit tis one cop twice. There's gotta be something in that, I think. But you are right, Trevor may be a crim, but there's no way he'd have run and left that cop lying in the road. The cop was pretty badly hurt, and was his partner's main concern. Trevor could easily have run, but didn't. I'm not a criminal, so I doubt the situation would arise, but I'd like to think I'd have the decency and compassion to do likewise. |

"On tonight's special episode of Cops we will be looking at Undercover Pussy and how it works.
*cut to running perp in backyard on infrared from chopper.. "This suspect thinks he's gotten away from the law.. but he couldn't be more wrong! What he doesn't know is that there is an undercover tabby right on his tail... and that cat is out for justice! The suspect tries to escape by running through a yard full of dogs.. big mistake.. that pussy fights right through the dogs and corners the terrified suspect against a mesh fence until officers arrive! Guess it just doesn't pay to be a cat burglar when the Cat Patrol is out in the street, protecting the town after dark! Our suspect is going down.. for cat burglary and resisting Pussy in Pursuit!" |

Alcohol and drug-related, mostly. Couple of assaults. Nothing too serious. No armed robberies or sex crimes or anything like that. He lost his missus not long back (weak heart, had a heart attack) and it cut him up pretty badly, he's been keeping fairly quiet and out of trouble since. Apart from Spook developing a taste for bacon... |
