They are just 'a tiny minority of extremists'.

This term 'a tiny minority of extremists', does seem to be a misnomer.

Dictionary;
misnomer = = a wrong or inaccurate name or term.     the wrong use of a name or term.




The supposed 'tiny minority of extremists' do seem to have a widespread 'footprint' of influence, in both the diverse areas on the globe where they are found, and in their diverse and substantial numbers, of teh 'cadres' who support and are members of these ISLAMIC militant groups.

For example, just look at how widespread the influence of these 'agents' of a violent ISLAM really are!

For example;
ISIS in Syria and Iraq,
the Taliban in Afghanistan,
the Taliban in Pakistan,
Al-Shabaab in Somalia,
Ansar Dine in Mali,
and Boko Haram in Nigeria,
[and there yet many more militant ISLAMIC groups, in our region - in S.E. asia]!

The militancy of all of these diverse groups [which remember! is a cultural militancy inspired by,    .....ISLAM!!!!], gives the lie to the term, just 'a tiny minority of extremists', which intentionally [and falsely!], seeks to downplay the - perceived - influence of ISLAMIC militancy - within any local moslem community - as though such an influence was almost non-existent.

And that 'idea' [that mental 'worm', that lie!] that has been promoted by moslems, in the 'mind' of the West,
...the argument, that ISLAMIC militancy involves just 'a tiny minority of extremists', is both a plausible and a comforting explanation - for those, who on hearing this explanation, want to believe such a lie!

The term itself, 'tiny minority of extremists', suggests, and has been meant to portray [to naive Western ears], and to convince them [naive Western ears], of how 'marginalised' ISLAMIC militants are within the larger global moslem community - the moslem ummah.

But those words, and the assurance that those words carry, are a blatant and shameless lie.

Those words - 'a tiny minority of extremists' - are a 'defensive sheild' for the moslem, and they are a 'nurtured mis-perception', an intentional attempt at misinformation and deceit, a deceit which has been targeted at 'policy makers' in Western hemisphere governments.

And on appearance of what is happening in the world today, it appears to have been a shockingly successful deception!

And that deception still has 'currency' and 'worth' today, among many 'policy makers' in Western hemisphere governments!

The jolly face of Sheikh Yassir al-Burhami has taken over from Y’s toddler photo recommending that we behead all those who insult the prophet.

I think Y’s softening in his views. Could this indicate a shift in power towards the more moderate face of Islam?

It certainly highlights a move away from the toddlers.

An Islamic moderate is not a Muslim at all according to the Qur'an.
I always laugh when I read the term Islamic moderate.  ;D
