Title: Transparency, honesty and false allegations... Post by Phemanderac on Jul 19th, 2014 at 10:47am
Hey all,
I recently made this statement in a thread on this board... "behavioural science has relatively recently been accepted as a genuine science. That's partly because of knowledge acquired over about the last 50 years (I note the irony there) of research information being collated is only just now starting to demonstrate consistent trends in practices that have longitudinal changes on behaviour." This same statement was then sent to me (via pm) with a link; https://www.google.com.au/#q=behavioural+science+has+relatively+recently+been+ac... and then eventually claiming that I had either plagiarised the comment or breached (and I quote) "copy write" (yeah yeah I know, it's copyright). Now, firstly, I have pointed out that it is difficult to plagiarise oneself... The link goes first and foremost back to my own post, then there are a bunch of other somewhat unrelated links. I put this up here, mainly because my erstwhile accuser has not bothered to acknowledge that the accusation was in fact completely in error. There is more to it though, the same said accuser is pretty rampant across a number of boards about false accusations via pm (particularly from Mods) and being "wronged" etc etc etc. Further, since there has been no response, I am making this a public record (as it were) issue in the interests of being transparent and honest. In short, I did not plagiarise that, or any other comment for that matter. I make a point if I quote someone else of attributing said comment... As such, I am fine with people asking the question or making the allegation, however, I would also expect them to demonstrate the integrity of acknowledging that they are wrong when it is demonstrated to them... NB: One edit to add bold. |
