Pre-emptive in saying it was the young mans' fault? What alternate reality are you living in, Mr Krayem? The officer from the AFP is in hospital with life-threatening injuries, while his Victorian Police colleague was stabbed twice in the arm before killing the 18 year-old. Thankfully and most importantly, both are in a stable condition, suggesting they should survive. I'd say by that point the Police Officer was fairly certain that the young man's intentions were less than peaceful before shooting him!!!

This raises the question why was that meeting being conducted outside the police station?

Interviews inside the station are video taped, but the discussion that occurred outside may not have even been voice recorded.

The reason why they didn't conduct the interview inside the station is because they didn't get that far before he tried to kill the two Police Officers. He tricked them into shaking his hand and then set about hacking into them with one of two knives he was carrying. The AFP officer received life threatening injuries to his neck and the Victoria Police officer received wounds to his arms before he shot the teen dead with a single shot. Both officers are in a stable condition, thank God. Make sense now?

He commenced a frenzied stabbing attack that left one officer with critical, life-threatening injuries and another with serious wounds - FACT. He was not shot until after both officers had been stabbed numerous times - FACT. He was found to have two knives on his person - FACT. He was found to be carrying an ISIS flag after being killed - FACT. How about you stop defending this arsehole and start showing some compassion for the officers who very nearly didn't go home to their families?
