CRC funding to be reduced- Joes Budget!

Abbott announced today CRC be wiped out and replaced with an Abbott plan to further foster Coal burning.

Industry Minister Ian Macfarlane said 'Having CRCs as an adjunct to this Abbott plan simply won't work,'

Very poor decision from the Abbott Government and a blow to syndicates had already spent hundreds of thousands of dollars preparing submissions for the next funding round!!!

As part of the 2014-15 Federal Budget, the Government has decided to reduce funding for the CRC Programme by $80 million over the forward estimates. As a result of this decision, the 17th selection round did not proceed for new applicants.

Applications for the current selection process closed on 3 July 2014.

This decision does not impact on existing CRC contracts.
