Title: The new Deputy Premier of NSW
Post by bogarde73 on Oct 17th, 2014 at 11:07am
As we all know, our state & federal parliaments are largely composed on both sides of party apparatchiks and lawyers.

Here's a bloke who is like a breath of fresh air. The new National Party leader & therefore Deputy Premier has only been a minister for 6 months, but was voted into the job unanimously by his colleagues.

He is an ex-policeman who has spent his entire career in regional areas of the state - lots of them.
He has also been done over by a bunch of drunks about 20 years ago to the extent he had to have years of surgery & therapy. He didn't take a payout though, he hung in there until he was fit enough to resume duty.

Finally someone to stand up for regional NSW and someone who knows how the average guy lives.

They screen this one so your team doesn't face even more humiliation when ICAC comes knocking.

You mean the humiliation of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of corruption during 16 years of Labor?

No armpit, exactly what the post says. Double digit LNP members done for corruption in one state.

While no corruption is acceptable, it is small fry when compared to the massive corruption that existed under Labor for 16 years.

The Truebelievers have little capacity to retain memories.  ::) They cannot recall the corruption of Obeid & comrades and that Labor had a peddo for a Govt minister in Milton Orkopoulos.   Must be all the brainwashing that goes on in union meetings and at the local branch politburos......... :D

I made no claim in relation to corruption. Are you saying that as an ex-cop he is by definition corrupt? Sounds like it. Or do your smilies indicate that you're just joking?
I'm sure there is corruption in the police force, indeed we know there has been, but I prefer to believe it is a minority involved, just as it probably is in the unions and anywhere else.

All I'm pointing out about this bloke is:
1. he is someone who has lived among the people in all parts of NSW and as a cop he knows about real life

2. he has been through the mill in a way few of us have and has fought his way back.

It must be pretty unique for a party to unanimously elect someone as leader who has only been in parliament for one term (less than a term in fact) and has been a minister for just 3 months. Surely a vote of confidence, when they have experienced people like
Katrina Hodgkinson and Adrian Piccoli.

Q.. and this relates to the endemic corruption of police and courts here exactly how?

A.... in that it is the abuse of power/privilege that is endemic in any society governed by small-minded and psychopathic fascists....

Nah - not him.  Guy I rescued was bloodied and prostrate in a back alley.... covered his ass and got him out. He got a worse reception from his police 'mates' than from me... they treated him  as a criminal he was in plain clothes and barely coherent with head injuries.... their attitude to him was shocking...

His Boss thought differently..... much discussion was had.... some were hung.... it's a long story... you sort of have to be there....

Here's why the former Deputy Premier quit politics.

Andrew Stoner says he quit politics to help wife with mental health issues

Quote:
Cathy Stoner says she has had undiagnosed depression, anxiety and PTSD from childhood abuse

I hope she gets the treatment she needs and gets well soon.
