Title: Seeking site ownwer.
Post by DaS Energy on Nov 19th, 2014 at 9:39am
I bring to you SpecialCharacter evidence of his intentional virus infection. I seek his removal!

1. He cites the removed the link!

2. He knew the music that Aussie spoke of without Aussie informing him.

3. He deliberately cites another posting he made later in pretence that it be the posting in question but the time wrong.

4. Nothing but the word link appeared in his posting.

5. The virus was not linked to any other material that was posted with the virus.

6. Evidence to (2) What? Is this what you're crying about?
Edit: removed link. For the curious, a google search for "saxroll gif" will do the trick.

SpecialCharacter tells posters to search for the video Aussie makes no mention of.

SpecialCharacter told Aussie how to disable the virus music without being told what music is playing by virus infection.

7. The posting,

PM Freediver (site owner)  if you have a problem .... you'll usually find him in the Islam board

I may have inadvertently started a false alarm here.  I am able to 'stop the music' in that link, but it is perpetual in motion ~ I have been told that is because it is a gif, and similar to some avatars you see where there is always motion.

Ooops.

Oh DaS, enough of the hysteria. There's no virus there. This was all a simple misunderstanding about gif files.

Edit: It seems Aussie just beat me to posting. Thanks, Aussie. See, Aussie agrees. No virus.

In the meanwhile, have a horlicks and a lie down. You're going to give yourself an embolism.

And, by the way, stop with the "virus poster" crap. That's defamatory, is illegal, but is also against the forum's rules.

If you want to contact Free Diver, just send him a PM.

I await your apology.

Ask Aussie - he'll agree. He too realises there's no problem, and no virus at any of the links I posted. I simply removed the one at Aussie's request.

Enjoy stewing in hate and rage.

You are forgiven, notwithstanding your ignorance and arrogance.

Namaste, with extra tomato sauce on top.

Never have enjoyed hate and rage. Never conduct so in all the Courts, and House of Lords precedent.

Nor do I shrink from my responsibilities in bringing to account those who bring harm or attempt to bring harm against another!

Ah. I see. You're an armchair lawyer, as well as an armchair engineer.

Here's an idea. Let's leave it to Freediver. If he thinks it's a virus, he can ban me. If he doesn't think it's a virus, he can ban you. Deal?

Before you agree, I feel it's only fair to give you the following quote:

Quote:
1227.com is a very simple site that plays a short video of a man playing a saxophone. There are no viruses, popups, or malware whatsoever. The site has a bad reputation mainly due to the fact that it used to be a a Rickroll site that would force you to click through the lyrics to Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" before the main window would close. The site hasn't had this behavior for well over a year and now no longer even plays the same song. It's now based on the popular internet meme of "The Epic Sax Guy", a silly joke that is always good for a laugh. Please have a look and give it your honest evaluation. Thanks!

Web of trust

How about it, then?

What say you stop your deceit, that is the post under complaint!

So, in summary, you think 1227.com is a virus site. I say it isn't. Aussie agrees that it wasn't a virus. I suggest a simple way of resolving this - FD checks it out, forms his view on the matter, then acts accordingly. If you're right, I'll be banned. If I'm right, you'll be banned. Sounds fair to me.

Why are you so nervous now?

I don't think he has his knickers in a knot over the 1227.com site, but rather the http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view/692133/sax-roll-o.gif image.

I suspect he's running AVG and it's said that the link contains some kind of nasty when he clicked on it.
There's nothing actually virus-like there, it's just that the substring AVG uses to scan matched something in the file. It happens, but it doesn't mean that there definitely is a virus there.

But the only "nasty" is the dude dry humping his saxophone.   :D

But, at any rate, my challenge still stands - check the gif out, and ban whoever's wrong. DaS has been way out of line here.

Thank you. It's good to know there's at least one person on this bloody forum who understands what false positives are.
