Gandalf is the Islamic concept of guilt and innocence entirely collective?

I have no idea what you are talking about FD.
Presumably you have a problem with the Quranic verse I quoted. If so, perhaps you can elaborate. |

"Let there be no hostility except to those who practise oppression."
This appears to be a collective reference. |

No, FD, it’s no more than taqiyya. No hostility? What a load of crap. |

Why would it even occur to someone that this verse reveals the Islamic concept of innocence?

Why would it even occur to someone that there is an Islamic concept of innocence? Is there? Sometimes a question is just a question, FD. Why don’t you tell us the answer? |

I think FD is asking if the Quran has any verses about innocence like the Bible does:
"...everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman." - 2 Chronicles 15:12-13 |

Yes, that’s innocence alright. We should all seek the Lord. If the Muslim refuses, he should be put to death. |

Because Muhammed built an entire legal code. The topic does come up occasionally, for example when that British Imam declared to the media after 9/11 that in Islam it is wrong to kill innocents, then told his congregation in Arabic that only Muslims are innocent. The links I gave above are now broken, but this is how it came up previously: polite_gandalf wrote on Dec 10th, 2014 at 10:20pm:

If you’ve had this conversation before, and you even have links, why are you asking the question again, FD?
I’m curious. |

People who do not practice oppression are innocent - and are not to be harmed. Is that so hard to understand?
Whats this collective nonsense? |
Title: Re: Islamic concept of innocence Post by freediver on Dec 28th, 2014 at 8:57am
It sounds like a reference to warfare. There are plenty of things you can be guilty of without 'practicing oppression'.

I thought we were talking about warfare.
