Title: Edinburgh Tattoo 2014
Post by Aussie on Jan 1st, 2015 at 9:46pm
Anyone else watching it on ABC.  Amazing how they stage it there.  That parade ground has a serious slope on it and the entrance to it from the Castle is so small.  Very clevah stuff!

It's just glorifying war.

You are forgiven for watching it

Bizarre, Bobby!  Ceremonial yeas, but a glorification?  Nah.  I can't see that at all.

Yes, I watched it and it made me think about the difference between multiculturalism - which it was not - and coming together under a shared, voluntarily shared, ethos, which it was.
The Singaporean military band examplified it for me. All Asians, racially, yet all British, culturally.

No multiculturalism, yet huge racial tolerance because of cultural affinity.  Best of British.

slight problem there.. but I'm BACK.

I always find myself stunned by the co-operative effort and will involved in presenting the Edinburgh Tattoo ..and thrilled by the performances.
Being a QLDer  ( hey don't hold it against me )

I am watching it now.
:)

I'd suggest that 'Soldier' is the oldest profession in this world.. NOT prostitute.

animals have been observed engaging in prostitution.  chimps trading sex for meat for example.  monkeys were taught to trade tokens for grapes but soon learned on their own to trade them for sex. female penguins trading sex for stones and twigs to build a nest.  am guessing that it may really be the world's oldest profession ...

yes indeed...

and yet the luvvies complain about how we give illegal immigrants 5 Star Luxury service... accommodation, TV, soft beds, etc etc etc...

yet our soldiers are protecting us, living in tents and on a stretcher (if they are lucky) happy to get any food made for them... a lot of the time making their own... carrying heavy loads in the harshest of conditions...

,,,,,,,,,,,,,

anyways... is their a repeat on the tattoo?

I'd luv to go there one day :)

I wasn't aware that chimps, monkeys or penguins actually HAD a profession.
Aren't you getting mixed up with (life) survival.?
