In my developing book concept "AustroChine" - I am just now considering how and when to insert the 'appeasers' who are seeking to stem the Yellow Tsunami by offering a few spots early to make it look as if we are good mates and partners...

In the real world - one can only surmise the level of sanity of the policy makers who seek to implement such insanities and rob Australians of a chance to earn an honest living and pay Swag's taxes instead of not getting a job....

On a broader scale - these same policy makers seem to imagine that the current world order, already showing all the signs of collapse.. is the way it will be in five years time.....

In five year's time - at this rate - there will be no Australia.... does anyone seriously imagine that updating and promoting the industrial base of many potential powerful future enemies will actually make them less liable to engage in adventurism in the South Pacific?

Dream on.... history shows us differently.. and shows us that the overdue desperate attempts to cut back on the growing industrial/military power of a nation leads us to war.....

There's a thought.. or we could put jobs on the world market properly and charge going rate....... I mean - how many 'capitalists' here are telling us daily that jobs are just another commodity?

In that case we should all be entitled to put our potential job on the market and get a fair price for it... or our government should list them like our dollar on the money market and ensure a fair price......

OH - and don't forget to include all the things 'deemed' to accrue to the social security beneficiary.  In calculating our 'worth' on the unemployment/pension market etc - the government takes into account our free legal aid and all... PBS.. lots of things that we allegedly don't pay for.

$20,000 is just the gratuity....

I absolutely bask in the free legal aid I get and even though I never need it.... it still cuts out a percentage of my pension...

Let's make it... oooh.. $40k.

Whenever 457 visas are audited, 20% to 25% noncompliance is typical, including employers that are fictional, workers not doing the job they were brought in for, workers being grossly underpaid, workers brought in for nonapproved occupations, or workers no longer working for the sponsoring employer. I do not have any confidence that any new category of visa will not be similarly abused.
