good stuff.  Middle aged losers with fat bellies pretending they are athletes.

The Raffles Hotel in Perth bans Lycra after patrons complain they are ‘disgusted’ by the tight-fitting cyclewear

LOL!!!.....have they banned budgie smugglers too? They're both a bit risqué but I wouldn't totally ban them, maybe keep the lycra to the gym and the nylon speedo's to the pool area. It is possible to look just the once, most of the time.

Perth is completly over run with middle aged lycra wearing males. they are everywhere and its not a good look. Why do these people think buying thousands of dollars in accessories actually substitutes for completing the activity itself.

They should be in Bermuda shorts, long socks and sandals.... and a funny hat...

They are called MAMILS (Middle-Aged Men In Lycra) and I'm glad to say
that, although both middle-aged and a cyclist, I do not own a single item
of lycra, nor do I plan to in the future.

I ride both for transport and for fun/recreation, not to pose at the local
coffee-shop and not because I think I can win the TdF, and I've always
found a t-shirt, shorts, and an old pair of trainers to be more than ade-
quate attire. In winter, jeans and a 'sloppy joe' are fine.

With the added bonus that, if I get off the bike and start mingling with
society, I don't look like a dick out of water.

"A sign put up at the weekend warned that management reserved the right to refuse admission or service to people failing to comply with dress requirements that included neat casual dress, no high-vis work wear, no dirty work wear, no board shorts and no "lycra cycle wear"."

Well done, Raffles.  Keep the MAMILs out!

(Pity they didn't ban flanno shirts and AC/DC t-shirts back in the '80s)

I've never been to Perth. It seems pretty and sensible. On the Gold Coast, the men in lycra own the pubs.

OK, the first video was poking fun (none of it was true).

However, EVERYTHING in this video is true:

Don't be put off, though: it's still a nice place to visit.

Will the perpetrators be placed on the no fly list?

As if the lycra isn't bad enough, it's the knowledge that the legs and god knows what all have been shaved . . .ostensibly for aerodynamic reasons (guffaws stage left).
