But I think you are stretching things beyond belief to say that Islamic ideas in this area are progressive.

The people of Palestine would add their voices to that disagreement with you. Over the last 60 years tens of thousands of Palestinians have been killed by Israel. Some of them children who were shot in the head for sport.

As long as the ruling elite can keep simpletons like longliar viewing the world in these simple terms and accepting and/or disseminating these glaringly absurd justifications for their aggression, the so called terrorist problem will continue and escalate. One thing the neo con's are right about is that we are in a war at the moment with these so called terrorists and they will use any tactics (including trying to galvinise their people through religion) to fight back at western aggression.
