Title: Looking for alternative media sources
Post by athos on Jan 16th, 2015 at 10:04am
So far the role of media in the western societies was to inform society and keep an eye on those who are in power. Today mainstream media follows very different model manly just echoing the opinion of the elite. This is specially so prevalent in so called two party dictatorship democracies like Australia, America, Canada, Britain and so on where practically both opposition and in power party play the same media drums.
No wonder that particularly the more educated audience is getting fed up of such patronizing and disrespectful attitude and looking for more alternative media sources.

come on athos... even being on different sides doesnt mean you cannot agree on some things..

the world is in bad enough shape do you want complete chaos..

as for the media.. its the world we live in now...the WEB.. it is fast it is instant...there is no correcting it before it hit the screen.. we now sit in our lounge room and watch war as it happens....

when I was a kid we had to go to the pictures to see what happened in the news last week...

I think you need to get used to it...its fast and furious today.

Did you actually watch the video cods?

From your answer I dont think you did.

It was about the media really only being a mouthpiece for the ruling class. Just reciting the opinion of the white house , pentagon etc.

A media where reporters dont question the government or big business' line in fear of being excluded. Sound familair Murdoch press being given the scoops from government insiders.

It wasnt about it fast and instant news at all.

Sometimes people judge books without reading them.
Obviously you haven't watched this video.
A bit humility wouldn't hurt you.
