Title: Nationwide Protest Rally Wednesday 4 March
Post by imcrookonit on Jan 31st, 2015 at 12:45pm

Fight for our Rights on 4 March      :)
Unions Australia

Our rights at work are again under attack from the Abbott Government and employers.

Just last week it became even clearer that the full-scale Productivity Commission inquiry into our rights at work could deliver cuts to penalty rates, the abolition of the minimum wage, bring back unfair individual contracts and swing even more power to the employers.

The time to stand up and fight back is now.

Let’s march together with thousands of our neighbors, workmates, friends and families at a national rally on Wednesday, 4 March.

We can’t stand by while the Abbott Government destroys our living standards by:

cutting wages, conditions and our rights at work,
slashing Medicare and hiking up the cost to see a doctor,
    introducing $100,000 university degrees,
cutting the ABC and our public services,
    cutting the pension and superannuation,
implementing harsh changes to unemployment benefits, and
cutting community services that support our most vulnerable.

If you have had enough and want to stand up for an Australia where seeing a doctor or going to university isn’t dependent on how big your bank balance is, where you have a secure job with a decent wage and where we don’t leave the next generation with less rights than we had, then join us on 4 March.

Block Wednesday, 4 March in your diary and start encouraging your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to join us ...  because the bigger the crowd, the stronger the message we send. Share this page on your Facebook and Twitter pages, and by email, to get the ball rolling.

Times and locations will be confirmed in coming days.

Let’s make it crystal clear to the Abbott Government and their big business supporters: we didn’t vote for these cuts and we won’t sit back while they attack our living standards.

Good propaganda, Comrade. There should also be protests for more homosexuals, Muslims, and feminists in power. The working classes have so much in common with them.

Thanks crook, I'm working with people from the ETU today at the polling booths. I'll see if they're getting involved in my neck of the woods.

I need a good protest rally and what better reason than

Abbott.....

slashing Medicare and hiking up the cost to see a doctor,

introducing $100,000 university degrees,

cutting the ABC and our public services,

Tony Abbott on notice – Queenslanders reject attacks on workers and living standards
.
01 February, 2015 | Media Release Queenslanders have sent a clear message to the Newman and Abbott Governments that they will not sit back while health, education, public services and workers’ rights are attacked.

ACTU President Ged Kearney said nurses, teachers, doctors, paramedics and public servants were just some of the tens of thousands of Queensland workers that made their voices heard.

“Tony Abbott is taking Australia where Campbell Newman took Queensland – slashing public sector jobs, cutting services and attacking rights at work,” Ms Kearney said.

“Whether it’s the GP co-payment, $100,000 university degrees or cutting wages – Tony Abbott is determined to drive down the living standards of all Australians.

“Queenslanders have sent Tony Abbott and the Queensland LNP a clear message at this election – Medicare, wages and rights at work are not up for grabs.

“LNP candidates and supporters licking their wounds today will no doubt be asking their leaders in Queensland and Prime Minister Abbott why they keep failing so comprehensively in the eyes of voters."

ACTU Secretary Dave Oliver said Australians are not going to stand by while the Abbott Government drives down our living standards and creates an entrenched working poor in our country.

“Just last week it became even clearer that Abbott’s wholesale inquiry of rights at work could deliver cuts to penalty rates, the abolition of the minimum wage, bring back unfair individual contracts and swing even more power to the employers,”  Mr Oliver said.

“We do not want an Australia where seeing a doctor or going to university is dependent on how big your bank balance is, where you don’t have a secure job with a decent wage and where we leave the next generation with less rights than we had.

“That’s why on Wednesday 4 March we are holding nationwide protests to make it crystal clear to the Abbott Government and their big business supporters that we didn't vote for these cuts and we won’t sit back while they attack our living standards."

There is something in the genetic makeup of the Lefties - dare I say a deficiency - that causes them to reach for a demo at the drop of a hat.

Let's get out there and blow our whistles, bang our drums, share our tambourines they think to themselves and then run around facebooking everybody they know.

Let's hold up the traffic and disrupt people's lives and businesses, who gives a damn!

Ever wonder what Abbott would be doing for a crust if he hadn't slimed his way into Easy Money Politics ?

If employed as a salesman in say an electrical-retail store, he'd be disastrous for business and would be sacked by one store after the next

If employed as a travelling salesman - same result, because he lies and promises and never follows through

If employed as a teacher, he'd be unemployed very quickly, due to his dictatorial, authoritarian stance.  And who knows, he might even lose his temper and punch students and end up in court

If employed as a journalist, he'd soon be out of work because he's delusional and hasn't a toe in the real world

He'd be the sort who'd grapple for every dollar not nailed down.  If sacked, he'd run and whine to the unions and expect them to fight on his behalf for compensation

He'd be friendless, because unless it benefits him, he appears to have no concept of loyalty.  He's all take, no give, although he likes to grandstand

Well, that's what I think

These protest rallies are useful in one way.
with facial recognition technology, it should be possible to get an ID on some randoms and pass this onto the "special branch" so they can be targetted for harassment by the authorities.

Yes. We "progressives" are the excrement, shitted out from the lower end of society. We are the rancorous, the leftovers, the idle, the lazy, the entitled, the gunk that just doesn't fit in anywhere. But, we are noisy, and demand justice for our existence. This is progress.

See that's where you're dead wrong , we had an issue with a local content clause with gorgon project some years back , we marched on Parliament House in good old wait awhile (wa) as a consequence and the sheer numbers Barnett got off his arse and visited the empty workshops on kwinana strip , after all they were importing the sidewalks ffs, a local content clause was tabled where it was narrowly defeated in parliament , we didn't achieve out goal of a local content clause but it highlighted a major problem with resource projects. We did achieve our goal of ensuring at least a minimal percentage of work was performed in WA, the re-works and cost blow outs are attributed to poor international manufacturing and a lack of understanding of australian standards , this is what can be achieved by protest in the masses. Keep sitting on Ya chair mate and be scared of those cameras , shakes head.

Perhaps you might want to wait until AFTER the Productivity Commission actually meets???

anyway Swag, how's that QLD election result? Not so good mate eh, from 9 seats to over 40, that's gotta hurt

It's happened before and it will happen again.

The more Labor State Govt's there are around the place then the better the Coalition's chances are federally.

As long as it don't happen here.

Call it Swag , tell me you think its a federal LNP strategy to hand over state power to ALP.

Swag? Is that why shorten made multiple appearances to support Vic and Qld opposition leaders at the time , to hurt their chances ? But Tony only turned up once in Vic and was nowhere to be seen in QLD?  That strategy didn't work out so well  ;D

Evidently you have never been to one , scabbing off hard won entitlements like the blister you're .

These protest rallies are useful in one way.
with facial recognition technology, it should be possible to get an ID on some randoms and pass this onto the "special branch" so they can be targetted for harassment by the authorities.
;)

Protests are organised and the relevant councils and traffic control enforced, they're also predominantly peaceful , your post demonstrates nothing but fear , you accept inequality and tyranny and will do nothing whilst it happens before your very eyes , characteristic of any righty , a spineless gimp that has the mindset that the elected government of the day will do the right thing by the people, you sit on your armchair while we sort it jellyfish .

WTF are you going to sort.
i doubt you could sort the washing into the socks and jocks pile. ;)

Bitch, I own you  :)

You didn't think it would happen in QLD swag, oh my 2 state governments that haven't gone back to back , that's smashed a 50 year record , what are the odds swag , you could probably have a better chance picking the lotto numbers than that happening  ;D you best pick up the bottom lip and work out how you're going to pull off a win in the liberal heartland of NSW, that freight train has absolutely belted you of late and is steaming full steam ahead.

See that's where you're dead wrong , we had an issue with a local content clause with gorgon project some years back , we marched on Parliament House in good old wait awhile (wa) as a consequence and the sheer numbers Barnett got off his arse and visited the empty workshops on kwinana strip , after all they were importing the sidewalks for goodness sake, a local content clause was tabled where it was narrowly defeated in parliament , we didn't achieve out goal of a local content clause but it highlighted a major problem with resource projects. No grocon in WA that I'm aware of , but I can give you an example of a company by the name of blast works employing the same intimidation techniques employing a whole lot of Maoris of epic physical proportions , snuck in under tarps under the back of utility's to break a picket line at Worsley alumina in 2005 . You think its one sided, I assure you, it isn't .
