Don't mess with Queenslanders  ;D ;D ... :D :D :D

** No, but seriously Queensland: Western Australia would never be able to do that and is rightly jealous of your absolute power to get things done! Well done, ..from all of Australia I dare say!!

--> Now it's time for the real whispering campaign!

  ;) ;) "Bye Bye Tony Abbott" ;) ;)

Goodbye and good riddance Campbell Newman.

By god that was hard work, every bone in my body ached after standing for eight hours in the boiling sun.

Thanks people of Queensland, it had to be done

and we did it!!!!!!

I'm reminded of the jubilation when Howard was defeated .... and the 6 years that followed ...

Okay - Abbott needs to go because he's turned into a one-man train wreck ... but let's not throw out Scott Morrison with the bath water.

News has it - (Samantha Maiden, Sun Tele 25 Jan 2015) - that Abbott was becoming slightly miffed at Scott Morrison collecting all the limelight and accolades for stopping the boats, and that's why he moved him into Social Services instead of Defence as he was hoping for.

It looks like dishonest oppositions that lie their way into power defeating reasonably good government may only get 1 term.

Taking the Abbott, Newman route to power leaves that government well and truly exposed to their own hypocrisy and very vulnerable when the electorate invariable wakes up to their dishonesty.

Although the Newman mod had to be punished we really do not know if the new Labor government is ready to lead with only one term of opposition and building.

This could easily turn out to be a mistake that had to be made.

as for overseas, you can hardly complain when you go to their country to make war that they fight back ... did you think they were going to simply hand over all their oil?

I think it will get a lot worst over the next few years, we have a government that has promised, minimal debt repayment and no infrastructure spending.

If you think we were run by a bunch of incompetents hell bent on destroying the great state of QLD, just sit back and watch the disaster unfold.

Unfortunately we are about to experience that famous Chinese curse of getting everything we wished for.

Good luck QLD you are about to turn into Tasmania.  :'(

Yep, not paying off the massive debt they incurred last time they were in power and no plans to undertake any job creating through infrastructure. Yeah, I listen to lack of action too.

That massive debt is still not paid off and unless she worked out how they intend to do it in the last few minutes, they have no plan to do so.

Are you a Queenslander or just some rusted on southern socialist, because you seem to know very little about what's going on in QLD?

you're not listening hard enough ... Qld's debt has increased under Newman, despite all his cuts. He's had 3 yrs, why hasn't he turned it around?

I live on the Gold Coast you turkey ... before you question anyone else's credentials about Queensland, you might want to make sure you at least know how to spell Queensland.

The word I used was Queenslander, and it looks like it's spelled correctly to me. Unlike the first word in your sentence which should be You're not your.  ;D (don't get caught up in typos and spelling, it generally gets you more than me)

Turning around a massive debt is not easy, it is expected to hit $100 bil soon, and labor has no plan at all to even trim the edges. Unfortunately the previous labor government got the massive debt ball rolling and the only way to pay off that big of a bill is to sell assets.

But I suspect a magic fairy wand is at hand at labor headquarters, and like you said they will have the debt cancelled within 3 years or else. Because as you said it should have taken only 3 years to get it under control.

Queensland will just be another socialist driven rust belt state  soon enough and you will be happy little socialists living the labor dream.

If the sole basis for your argument are typos, please go and argue with someone else, you're boring me.

But you have no standing in how this massive debt is going to be paid off by labor so I can see why you are crapping with this triviality.

Once again we voted against a government we hate instead of voting for a government we like. I looks good and it looks like we are in control, but the reality, it will just be a continuation of the sht fight.

I have absolutely no faith that this government will have any positive effect on QLD, so in three years we will back where started from only worse off than before.

the left seem to think the govt can go on for ever dishing out money to the people who pay next to nothing in income tax.... at the same time pay off massive debts....and build things.. ::) ::) ::)

they bury their heads when it comes to paying for any of it though......what where.... :D :D :D.. dont ask....

as we all know Qld very dependent on mining exports..

::) ::) ::) ::).. guess where that is going right now?...

not sure people are rushing to spend their holidays in Qld either..

Once again we voted against a government we hate instead of voting for a government we like. I looks good and it looks like we are in control, but the reality, it will just be a continuation of the sht fight.

I have absolutely no faith that this government will have any positive effect on QLD, so in three years we will back where started from only worse off than before.

does anyone know who they voted for.. ;D ;D ;D ;D

as you say they know who they voted against... stunning...

I have a funny feeling they wont even be able to spell the new Premiers name let alone say it..

even funnier..,........well she was whatshername before so may as well "Carry on Qld"...wheres Sid James when you need him...???

at least we can remember his name and hes been dead a lon g time... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Good job Pansi and what a wonderful result. Not only did you help to rid the world of Campbell Newman you also put us well on the road to ridding us of Abbott and a significant redirection of of Federal Govt policies.  Its been a monumental election result with far reaching implications well beyond just Qld

yes it really is an "ITS ALL ABOUT ME AND WHATS IN IT FOR ME" syndrome in this country now...

its very noticable lefties only like the govt dishing out.. free this and free that....the moment they are asked to pay for something they go into melt down...

good one guys.. I look forward to a comlete change around up there.

who knows at that rate they might even win my vote..........................................

dont count on it though
There is of course another way of looking at it; namely what the LNP are doing has nothing really to do with a "debt emergency" and everything to do with ideology and feathering their own nest. If you listen to Turnbull's speeches lately you will see that even he is saying a lot about "sharing the burden" instead of just placing the burden on the shoulders of one section of the community. Ask Swag.  He is constantly on about cutting penalty rates "for the good of the country" but you you ask him if the business community will take an equivalent cut in pay all you get is silence.  You see when it suites them they argue like socialists "its for the good of everyone they say" but their solutions are seem to put money in their pockets and there's no equivalent sacrifice on their part.  And cods, your working class (where do you think your sense of community comes from), that's easy to tell. But its so embarrassing for you that that they have you repeating their propaganda for them. Qld went the way it did because most people there know that its all LNP BS.  Why dont you at least think about it.  Next time you look at another LNP policy (eg penalty rates, so called IR reform) ask yourself, how come everything they propose always ends up putting money in their pockets and taking money away from workers and their families???

Not everyone is an insane rusted on political peon, like yourself there sunshine.

But either party has only themselves to blame for the white wash they suffered, but like I said, voting against who you hate is not a good way to elect anyone.

The new premier is not particularly bright and she is leading a whole bunch of people who are totally clueless in running a state, do you really think this is going to end well?

It was a simple question ... were you crying about voting a govt out depsite not knowing what the alternative govt was bringing in? Your sentiments were fine, but they must apply equally to both sides, otherwise you are as rusted on as any other rusted on liberal hack. As for your stupid comment about leading people that are clueless in running a state, that can be said about any new govt. Besides, they have a lot of MP's from the last QLD labor govt. that have won their old seats back, so they're not as inexperienced as you seem to think.

I don't know if she is going to do well, I haven't really seen enough of her to form an opinion  .... It's irrelevant anyway, we've tried smart politicians, they don't work ... the problem with smart ones is that they think they are smarter than everyone else ... No. The vote was against a government which was insufferably bad, extremist in its outlook and
actions, and which anyone could see didn't give a rolling root for YOU.

But, you clowns will never get it. Too bloody thick to not vote against your own best interests
or those of the state/country.

There should be a political awareness exam which everyone must pass before being allowed to
vote. If there was, neither Abbott nor Newman would ever have gotten a guernsey.
