Will probably fall under the To Long Did Not Read banner for most so I'll highlight the salient points.
Will fall under the I Can't Take Much More from our Conservative posters. Quote:

Yes, well - we all know that appointments to boards etc of statutory bodies etc are always laden with mates, cronies and fellow travelers... both parties do it shamelessly.
Question is when will this become cause for a charge of corruption and be properly handled by a Federal ICAC? As for the Cormannator - what would you expect from some twerp from a small nation trying desperately to get a handle on the issues for huge, spread-out Australia? You can take the boy out of Belgium, but you can't take the Belgium out of the boy.... |

Rudd actually appointed some Libs to this type of govt body, ex–Defence Minister Hill for example.

Yes, other Liberals appointed by Rudd come to mind ... Brendan Nelson, Amanda Vanstone. The Abbott government, on the other hand, only appoint Liberals and Liberal-friendly partisan hacks. They are doing a poor job at avoiding the possibility of corruption. |

Yep. The public grasped this. Seems an insignificant issue compared to all the rest, but the 'Abbotthood of Prince Philip encapsulated all that's wrong with Abbott and the public lost patience and want the idiot gone |
