Title: Springborg Has No Mandate To Govern

Springborg has no mandate to govern: Palaszczuk

Date
    February 8, 2015
    Brisbane Times

Lawrence Springborg is a recycled leader with a poor track record in health and no plan for Queensland's future, according to rival Annastacia Palaszczuk.   :(

The Labor leader visited the South Bank markets on Sunday and made her first public comments since Mr Springborg was elected at an LNP partyroom meeting on Saturday.

"Let's be clear – no one voted for a Lawrence Springborg-led government," she said.

"There is no renewal in the LNP, it is more of the same."   :(

Ms Palaszczuk remains a hair's breadth away from claiming enough seats to form government, with four seats still in doubt after the January 31 election.

With 88 per cent of the vote counted, Labor looks set to win 43 seats to the LNP's 39, and has already secured support from independent MP for Nicklin Peter Wellington.   :)

Ms Palaszczuk remained "hopeful and optimistic" the numbers would fall her way.

"Only Labor can offer stability in this state," she said.

"I am calm, everyone here is calm."

The LNP government remains in caretaker mode and Mr Springborg said nothing should change until the outcome is known in the seat of Ferny Grove.

A by-election may need to be held immediately in the Brisbane seat after the Palmer United Party candidate was disqualified for being an undischarged bankrupt.

Ms Palaszczuk said Mr Springborg sacked 4800 health workers, including 1800 nurses and midwives.   :(

"Lawrence Springborg presided over the six-month doctors' crisis which engulfed this state," she said.

"That was firmly at the feet of Lawrence Springborg, and he created instability."

Mr Springborg ruled asset leases off the table after his elevation to the leadership, but said on Sunday Queenslanders were happy with the party's other pledges, such as boosting nurse numbers.

But Ms Palaszczuk said they now had no strategy to fund them.

"They went to the election talking about asset plans. Now they say assets are off the agenda, so they have no plan," she said.

"All of their election commitments are null and void."

Right on the money.  No asset sales/lease.............no LNP programme.

44 assumes ALP win Maryborough, (not included in the 43) which they should but no-one is conceding or claiming.

Yes. She managed to say nothing at all about how she will run the state and pay back the debt. Good propaganda.

Agreed.. Springborg has no mandate to govern.

His scare-mongering over Ferny Grove is typical of the LNP.  Nothing changes for them.. they are what they are.

Not worthy of government, regardless of
who their so-called 'leader' is. :(

I am so sick of hearing their negative BS ...  I wish they'd all GO AWAY.!

Negativity is our "progressives'" speciality. I don't want LNP anyway. I am "progressive" therefore I want Labor and more debt!

I remain concerned that no party in the state in which my grand-children live is capable of running the show for their future....

Pretty simple, eh?

As a "progressive", you want more hideous brown people too, don’t forget. Let’s watch them drag whitey down to their level, comrade.

This is progress.

It's progress because you find a certain type attractive??
I guess it's progress if you hated them before.

Otherwise I don't think it is progress for anyone else who you like??

dearie me Hicks
your comment is unclear in its intent.  Could you possibly  say what you mean?  I assure you  :) ;D I'll not be offended.

My comment relates to  the acceptance of  'other than white people' living here  with me in Oz.  I have no problems with the idea.  Not a 'certain type', you whinging pom.
OH   are you living here now.??

I like diversity.  :)  Guess you are the white bread and blood sausage type eh?  Like your bangers and mash?  Your yorkshire pudding with your Sunday roast.?

Speak up.

apologies people .. I've allowed myself to be side-tracked by Hicksville.

Springborg will disappear shortly .. no doubt about that.  How many times can they hear ,  but not understand what is as plain as the nose on his face.?? ;D

That's quite amusing considering the LNP was committed to $8 billion in additional spending.

Of course. We "progressives" have taken on white mans' burden. It's odd though, because we view those in the past with this attitude as imperialists and racists. But we "progressives" have somehow turned white mans' burden around to be a good thing. This is progress.

Will someone please teach that dumbass Palachuck that we don't choose a leader, we choose a party and they choose their leader? Otherwise, she also has no mandate to govern.
