Nowhere do I allege any particular person tried to stuff around with my password. Maybe Mantra saw something as well.  Even Lisa Jones, even Super Nova, perhaps even AiA...who knows what they may have seen, and missed by you.

All I know is that I received an email alerting me to the fact that someone was attempting to hack around my password here probably not long after Neferti became aware of her ban here.  I was hoping you could assist me and the GMods in the matter.  Maybe, any one of those others can.

Black Orchid, I would not be asking the questions I am if I already knew the answers, would I?  You say you saw nothing elsewhere about anyone being 'dead meat' not too long after Neferti would have become aware of her ban here, and not too long after someone tried to hack my password.  That's on the record.  I have no idea if you are being honest so I'll assume you are as is only fair.  Maybe frediver, skippy, AiA, Mantra, or Lisa Jones saw something you missed. Maybe even Neferti herself saw something.  I don't know.

But, I do know someone tried to stuff my account....hence the Thread. None of this would have any relevance apart from that fact. If that did not happen, this Thread would not exist.

Members are entitled to be assured this sort of skullduggery will receive a strong response sent in the direction of any perpetrator and even to those who might be trying to protect any said perpetrator.

Rest assured I did ignore it.  But.....as it was not me who tried to stuff around with my account/password, someone else actually made the attempt.  Hence the Thread, as I am sure freediver/GMods/and Members would want to know there is someone trying to hack a Member's account.

No, the post made by AA was not to bring PA rubbish (or similar) here.  This is about an attempt made here to hack my password.  All you are being asked is whether you have any information which might assist in establishing relevant information.  I would not PM you in a fit these days SN...as soon enough, you will use it to forge yet again for the....'zillionth' time.

Requesting a password reset is not an attempt to hack your password. the email is sent to you registered email account. That's the part that prevents it being used as a hack. It cannot be used to "hack". it is being done probably because they know you think it is a hacking attempt.

Why can't you listen for once and be told.  I can only conclude you are drama queening to cause fear and doubt and to hurt a members reputation.

I don't have a problem with you being IT illiterate, we all know that. I have a problem with your motive to cast blame as wide as you can in the hope it sticks to someone you have an issue with.

And I have a problem with someone who tried to access my password.  It seems you (a PA Moderator) are not co-operating with providing assistance.  Dunno why.  I'd be anxious to assist you if someone tried to stuff your account/password.

Mantra has provided some assistance, and being an honest person, I'm sure she'll help as much as she can.  After all, she knows exactly what it is like when it looked (according to her) like someone had hacked into her PA account.

You got that right.  It is about me and someone who tried to hack around or even into my password here.

(You reckon I don't listen, yet not too long ago I told you I would not PM you because of your track record of using PMs as a base for your very clever forgeries.)

Anyway...by way of summary:

1.  Someone tried to stuff around with my password here.
2.  That was very near in time to when Neferti would have become aware of her ban from here.  (Might be totally unconnected.)
3.  I am aware (unless I am being deceived) that within 24 hours of that ban, a Thread was commenced elsewhere  titled 'Aussie is dead meat."
4.  Black Orchid was an active participant in it.  (Despite her stupid denials here.)
5.  The Thread centered on the banning of Neferti here.
6.  The ban of Neferti was stated to be my doing ~ amazingly so, because it was Neferti who posted the personal details of a Member here, not me.
7.  Black Orchid posted in that Thread (the one she lied about not seeing) that she could not understand what possessed Neferti to post that Member's personal details.
8.  In that Thread, Neferti attempted to excuse her posting of that Member's private details....contrary to her stupid denial here that she had posted those details.
9.  AiA (to his marginal credit.....) expressed his view that to do what Neferti had done was asking for trouble.  He failed to condemn Neferti for doing it.
10. Contrary to what was posted here, that Thread was up from the 10th February, until yesterday.  It was not 'up' briefly.
11. Many posts were made condemning me.......as though it was me who posted private information
12. That Thread was commenced by Neferti.
13. Super Nova, yesterday/today (he is in a different time zone,) removed it.....and posted that while he tried to archive it, he might have stuffed up and actually deleted it.

All of that is totally beside the point Mantra.  What does it matter if I am being given facts probably relevant to some idiot ineptly trying to hack my password here? Mantra, I received that email because someone tried to get into my password here.  Read it, and you will see.  It was not a random thing.  I am not saying publicly who or who did not provide me with the details.  I don't betray confidences either.

Skippy.....you can do what you like, and if you bothered to read, you will see that I have not said that Neferti is responsible for the attempt to get at my password.  I have said there are strong indications.

I think you do betray people's confidences - simply because whoever passed this information on to you probably didn't expect you to splatter it all over this board. You've betrayed their confidence. My account was hacked when you were admin at PA. It's been hacked here. Skippy's was hacked here too. Hacking happens on these boards, but when you  start dragging other people into your problems - it causes  dissension and suspicion is plonked on innocent people also.

1.  No confidence has been or will be betrayed.  It is as simple as that.

2.  This is the first time (covering a period well in excess of ten years) anyone has tried to stuff around with/get access to/hack my password, and I want it looked into, just like you did when you believed someone had been tampering with your account.  My situation is a little different in that I am able to produce the evidence (the email) in support of my concern.

3.  I have no idea if freediver can establish who was responsible, but if he can, then I'd anticipate that person would be given a very long vacation from here.

4.  The air would be cleared if the person who tried to get at my password accepted responsibility for it, rather than allow others to be suspected.

So if Aussie has an informant , then so what-? If you ban him and then continue to discredit him behind closed doors then expect this- thats how I see it.  Skippy has shut the place down because he banned 3 pp who have been members there forever- he is a very bad admin and takes the easiest no brainer option because he has no brains- He has caused this problem. You have obviously completely missed the point.  We all know there was an attempt to hack.  Of course I want the person responsible for an attempted invasion of my account (if they had succeeded, they would have had complete control ~ I would have zero access) discovered (if that is possible) and dealt with ~ they would see all details in my profile and have full access to PMs etc, and would happily post away as 'Aussie.'

As soon as Aussie disclosed that information I knew that some members would fall under suspicion. He obviously doesn't care how many people get caught up in this web of viciousness and it's simply because he's angry that he was banned permanently. You are wrong AG. Aussie knows that a while back when I ran some thoughts by him - they turned up as fact on another forum posted by him. It only takes one slip up from a member and I won't discuss anything controversial with them ever again. Whoever informed Aussie this time around was betrayed by him, but he's pretending that he's protecting them by letting a few of us get the blame for this.

The simplest response to all this crap I think is to make the matter an external issue.

Hacking an account is a serious legal issue, hence make it an external legal matter.

The person who, at face value at any rate, has been wronged in this, is Aussie, some scum bag decided to try to hack is account - allegedly.

The only purpose I see by making that a public issue on the board is a heads up warning about the potential for people to try and hack your (everyone of you) system at a whim.

I don't really care who the poster was at the end of the day. This would become a matter for the police and ultimately the site owner and or provider, ie. FD and whoever he purchased his right to use this board from.

This is pretty simple stuff people.

The ensuing shyte fight though is all old enmities that constantly bubble over and spring up. The thing not many seem to recognise is the escalation to a much more serious idea.

The lack of integrity shown here is appalling by such a wide range of people it is utterly astounding. Of course, some are no surprise what so ever.

I agree entirely and if they can come back as someone else.. really why bother...I didnt see any trouble wth neferti so have no idea what she did that would cause that extreme action..but someone did and a mod got rid of her...maybe they will change their minds but this type of carry on wont help.

And all the things that are said about me Aussie and Monk.. ::)   Naff was banned for a real reason- safety of a forums members- I was banned for what good reason is still not clear to me- for doing what everyone else does I guess- I used swear words I think- and said that  skippy was a crap admin- yes a banning offence to be sure,

Aussie was banned for being Aussie and so was Monk/George-just for being himself- we have hacked no ones account nor put anyone's safety at risk. Incredible really.

I guess that is the direct consequence of trying to hide a section of a Forum to everyone except Members.  There are many Members at PA......(about 273 registered) and all of them have access to every section of that Forum, just like the Members here can access every part of the Forum.  Nothing confidential about it at all.  It is weird that all the people from elsewhere care about is who shared the content of what is a public forum, rather than trying to assist freediver with any information they may have which would help him (if he cares) get closer to identifying who it was who tried to hack my password to get full access to, and 100% absolute control of, the 'Aussie' account.

This attempt to get at my account could happen to everyone here......and they are all entitled to know that we have someone who is willing to try it.  Everyone here has a very vested interest in identifying who would do that sheeeeeet.

If you remember when you reinstated my account on the other board after my long, long ban, it took all day and FD had to eventually intervene. Every time I got a new password sent to me - someone was a bit quicker and tried to access my log in. At that time it wouldn't have been any of those people who you might believe did this to you and I was fairly certain it was someone from your team. As I didn't know for sure - I dropped the matter.

You will never know who played the same trick on you.

Your account wasn't hacked - someone tried to log in obviously knowing full well that you would get a letter and it would stir things up. Who that person is - I wouldn't have a clue, but there is no harm done at the end of the day.

Nobody got into Aussie's account. I would think that Aussie has a very secure and complicated password which no hacker would guess and they wouldn't have access to his email where his new password was sent. We all learnt to be very careful to use complicated passwords after the Skippy incident.

I dont know anything about her account being hacked.. but it would have been some time ago and I would think fd updates his system all the time..to prevent this type of thing happening...as far as i know this is against the law so its in his favour to make sure it doesnt happen...but people are clever as we know.. and get round  systems...fd is the person to deal with it... not the forum

There is nothing confidential about what is posted at PA.  There are 273 "Members" there.  I am totally unconcerned about an irrelevancy and I am stuffed if I know why anyone else cares about who told me the truth. 


The relevant point is that someone tried to get my password here.....ineptly.....but they tried. There were things posted elsewhere in that Thread which will be of some assistance to freediver in getting all available information.

Let's deal with what is of ongoing concern which is definitely not who gave me the truth.

exactly and aussie knows that....it wouldnt be hard for some to work out would it...over there I mean....I think he has done himself a massive disservice...by carrying on with this... he htinks the more he says it the more people will believe but the opposite is what is happening....

Tis a pity that Aussie was not also told that the topic in question was merely about Nef having a bit of a vent for being banned because she thought Aussie had reported her.

You know, we're human...and so venting out our frustrations every now and again is just a normal aspect of our humanity. Why even Aussie himself had a bit of a vent after he was banned recently.

Anyway, the topic in question, just like all topics...meandered into different directions. It was pretty much a non event really.

You are one of the people I referred to as having integrity Cods. As for Lisa she seems a little upset with me-- now trying to deflect a portion of blame onto me and Annie-- one ( me ) is banned and Annie hasn't been near the place for months..talking about drawing a long bow. What you are missing cods is the entire point.  Someone ineptly tried to stuff my password here.  If they had not been beaten off by routine software, they would now be posting as 'Aussie,' and I'd be floundering around trying to get word back to here that my account was hi-jacked.

I want to know who did that so that appropriate action can be taken. To that end, I have asked people who have knowledge of what is posted elsewhere about "Aussie is dead meat" what they saw, (given I am banned from that place) so that information can be also be taken into account by freediver.  Only he would have access to all the software data (for example....in the Forum Logs) here which would help detect the culprite.  Every little bit helps, yeas?

But......because people from elsewhere became worried that elsewhere, they would be regarded as a 'snitch,' the thing went off on a tangent (aided by you) about who it might have been who told me the truth.  There are people who actually do hold truth as a pretty important part of integrity.  There are others who would prefer to attempt to hide it just to remain part of the Secret Squirrel's clan/tribe.  You chose to concern yourself with that latter irrelevancy..............thus, missing the point, which is:

I've been totally honest about who told me the truth.  I have named no-one, and I will not allow a process of elimination to assist the people who would want to take action against an erstwhile honest person who simply told me the truth.  You are wasting your time Lisa, as you of all people would/should know.  I keep confidences.  People tell me all sorts of things privately, but I will never reveal who gave me the information.

Cods.....I'm not going to attack you.  That does not mean you are not posting sheer garbage.  In your case, I'd rather keep my keyboard relatively inactive rather than be rude to you apart from saying this:

1.  FD needs to know.
2.  Members here are entitled to be assured that FD/GMods will do all they can to protect privacy and security of accounts, and that includes trying to discover who may be breaching privacy and attempting to break into accounts.
3.  Members here are entitled to know if any other Member's account has been attacked, successfully or otherwise.
4.  Any attempt to side-track those issues with irrelevancies about who told me the truth is completely non-productive.

I think posters such as cods and Phemanderac are spot on. Do you have the police report number yet Mr Aussie? While I'm no InfoSec boffin, AFAIK it's normally quite difficult to prove if you've actually been hacked. I especially doubt whether a ... er... low end ... setup would have much in the way of digital tripwires.

Finally, for Clive's sake Aussie -- if you're worried about being hacked, change your password. This is teh interwebz. Login with HTTPS and change your password to something long, using both upper- and lower-case letters, numbers, and symbols. And make sure you don't have any spyware on your computer.

Good idea to stay right away from there. I bet there is going to be another episode of of personal details being disclosed there soon or other troll behavior.

I fully appreciate and understand what you're saying. However I have been over yonder and I've been busy ripping into Nef on a/c of the fact that she was banned from OzPol for stupid multiple offences.
