I bet you tell them a verse or two of Revelations before you let them go. Never miss an opportunity to 'save' a life insurance salesperson.

Cool, so you'll burden your family with debt over your funeral. Got it.

It is only a promise, not a certainty [at this point].

But i trust the one making the promise.

So i hope to,        ...live forever.

Yadda, the gullible.

Your statement assumes that i must be in a penniless state/circumstance, or that i will be, when i pass on when i 'go to God'.          [   ;D  ]

There are a lot of people in this age, that seem to confidently, and happily, make uninformed and mistaken assumptions in life.

e.g.
I know that a lot of 'modern' science [many 'modern' 'scientific' hypothesises] are based upon unprovable and unverifiable assumptions.

e.g.
'Dinosaur fossils are known to be millions of years old.'

Petrification of organic matter [i.e. 'fossilisation'], can happen in as little as 20 years [in conducive circumstances].

It is true.

You do realise that even in rapid petrification that the dating will show up the age right.

"Don't make me come down there!

                                        God"
                 bogarde73, current sig line

Deuteronomy 32:39
See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
40  For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever.
41  If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.
42  I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy.
43  Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.

God promises redemption, to those who do NOT 'go native' here,      ....to those who instead, 'seek him'.

How do we 'do' that ?

How do we 'seek' God.

------------ >

Deuteronomy 8:2
And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

Those who 'go native' here, believe, "Life's a b itch, and then you die!"

Some other people, choose to meditate on the meaning of a bible verse like Deuteronomy 8:2

Yadda, has been 18 years old, all of his life.

:)

He is both naive, and a deep sceptic.

"Seek the LORD, all you meek of the earth, who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of the LORD'S anger."
Zephaniah 2:3

Care to explain more, Yadda? Could you compare and contrast your quote with Bogarde's position on the topic?

So he's not omniscient? Obviously not or he would already know what was in their hearts and whether they would keep his commandments.

No he's not. They can only be 6,000 years old. 7,000 tops.
