You must have skipped the second paragraph, but don't let the facts get in the way of your opinion. Some economists have slammed the Abbott government's response to the situation, saying Australians are being encouraged to rely on private debt to fund more of their consumption – the same destructive dynamic that played a role in the global financial crisis. |

You idiots keep talking about a recession under or caused by Abbott, yet each successive quarter has shown growth under his tenure as PM!

Unemployment increasing by only 2 percentage points during the height of GFC and was an amazingly good result. The Liberals seeing it increase by 1 percentage point for no reason wasn't so good. |

According to an interview from the Treasurer, Hockey calls any growth below trendline as "flat growth" or something like it. Basically said it was inadequate and pathetic with the then Labor governnment. So unless this growth is above "trend growth" I guess by his standards just not good enough.

So the FACT that mining is in decline due to falling prices isn't a good reason? |

yes unemployment increased despite record high terms of trade and iron ore & other commodity prices on Labor's watch? Rolling back workchoices, taxing carbon dioxide & kicking the mining industry in the balls turned out to be pretty dopey policies... We still have the hangover |

At the peak mining only employed about 1.5% of the workforce in Australia, you need to make up a better excuse. |

Now they are back to paying virtually no tax. The moderate tax that the few best performers were expected to pay made little to no difference. There were no socialists involved. Technically the most socialist government in Australia's recent past was run by a fellow named Howard. |
