Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) organiser Richie Hassett said the State Government had questions to answer. "There's up to 80 to 100 foreign workers being used on that project," he said. "The company said from the very start that there was going to be a specialised crew of about a dozen workers come over from overseas. "We would like the Government to come clean to the Tasmanian people and answer the question as to why there was a need for foreign workers."

The days of entitlement are over.

Australians can't just expect to get jobs after they leave school. A job is a privilege. We don't have enough money to be handing out jobs willy nilly to everyone who wants one. And this "foreign workers" angle is just more racist xenophobic drivel that is upsetting our northern neighbours. Australia has in place free trade agreements today, and this will help bring much needed foreign capital and cheaper prices for our goods.
