Equating to about $10 per citizen per year for these programs plus football, tour de france, good docos. I'd say worth it.

I didnt know they had off switches....the thing is SBS has some really good shows and I am sure he enjoys those foreign movies... ;) ;) ;)all bought with taxpayers funding..

Well, 'off' buttons on the remote.

I agree - SBS has some wonderful shows.

It also has some crap.

However, what's 'crap' to me is 'wonderful' to others.

(By the way, SBS on Demand is brilliant! - My smart TV is hooked up to the NBN, so now I can get all the good stuff I've missed during the week).

The world is an interesting place filled with all kinds of people. In this 2 minute clip I got a glimpse of how really different people can be. As far as I'm concerned I got value for money. Thanks SBS

I'm pleased to see you're taking my advice on balance Spartacus.

Basically I'm not opposed to any program on a public channel that is not gratuitously offensive to general community standards.
Like someone else said, I get some value from certain SBS programs. I don't watch things I don't like.

There are even left wing articles in the Business Spectator for god's sake, a refuge I expect to be able to retreat to with safety. But balance is OK.
