Anniversary of September 11

May they rest n Peace

Hard to say. I don't think I would have jumped, I would have tried to find another way, but who knows. Desperation makes people do all sorts of things.

The other factor to consider is did they jump in a desperate but futile, attempt to live, or did they jump because it was preferable to burning?

Who cares, Soren?  You have a morbid fascination with the victims of Terrorism, don't you?   ::)

May they rest in peace.

I was not far away from Washington that day. I was helping a friend move some furniture. I heard a vague report about New York and remembered another accident with a light plane. Then the news started to come in of the whole organized hijacking even before Pennsylvania, and I thought: Muzlims. I was right. Later, it got more personal.

America crashed the planes into the twin towers.

No plane hit the pentagon.

3 buildings went down at the world trade centre but only two buildings had been hit.

Oh, I'd have invaded a country that had nothing to do with it.

You?

I keep thinking about that too.

Not sure what I would have done either.

Soren asks a good question, Brian. Had he been in the same situation, what would he have done? What would you have done? In fact, what would you do if something similar happened in the future, and you were one of the victims?

Yea, that's right, Brain, do pretend that you are only ever concerned with what directly impacts on your life, never anything else.

Pretentious fool.

I leant a long time ago, Soren that which impacts on my life is what matters to me, personally.  I don't work in high rise buildings nor in potential Terrorist targets.  I watch what goes on around me and I look at what other people are doing.  Unlike you, I am not blind to what affects me, directly.  As the question was directed to me, I answered it honestly.  You have a problem with honesty it seems.    ::)

I think Brian is abridging what he knows about the attack, but egocentrically projecting his ptsd onto others. He does not know what he is talking about.

Well that's a turn up for the books.  The usual luvvie mantra is car crashes kill more people than terrorists, more people fall down stairs than killed by terrorists, more likely to die of cancer than be killed by terrorists etc, all true, but the implicit criticism is if you demonstrate concern about terrorism then of course you must be a racist islamaphobe.

It's not much of a point but the luvvies do love making it.

And now there is brian who doesn't work in high rise buildings ....for fear of terrorists.  Complete with rolling eyes.

Does that make him a racist islamaphobe?

It's rather funny.   ;D

Here, the old boy demonstrates his subliminal knowledge of a process called counter-transferrence.

Amazing what comes up in our little sessions together.

Quite a simple answer for me. I would jump.

Burning alive must be one of the painful ways to go. Hitting the concrete would just be lights out, all over.

Not for fear of anything, just a precaution to ensure that I will live longer than a friend of mine who did work in a high-rise building.  You really should stop projecting, you realise?   ::)

You would be unconscious from smoke inhalation long before that.

FYI - it was the image of the soldier burns in a cage by Islamic STate.

He didn't seem to be unconscious from smoke inhalation.
