Title: Will Turnbull Commit To Syrian Ground War

United States to send dozens of special forces to Syria as first boots on ground

United States officials disclosed plans on Friday to station the first American boots on the ground in Syria in the war against Islamic State fighters, saying dozens of special forces troops would be sent as advisers to groups fighting against the jihadists.

The announcement of the small ground force came as diplomats from more than a dozen countries held talks over Syria, which for the first time in the 4-year civil war were attended by President Bashar al-Assad's main ally Iran.

We all know how warmongering both liberal and labor are. And how undemocratic to boot. Both refusing parliamentary debates in foreign wars they enter at a drop of a hat.

This time we must stop the olds early in entering another quagmire without any plans or exit strategy.

Any evidence BOTH major parties are warmongering?

Start at WWII and work your way up to the present day.

Got any evidence of what is needed to achieve baseload solar? I would think something like 200Km by 200Km in a northern location. Cost? Damage to desert environment? Cost of ultra high voltage DC power lines to bring the power to the south?

Or be sensible and build a modern nuclear generator for baseload power for industry and make shutting down all the dirty coal fired generators.

Dumbing It Down: How Labor And The Libs Enforced A Parliamentary Blackout On Debating War In Syria

When Malcolm Turnbull announced he was going to challenge Tony Abbott’s leadership of Australia, he said that he was going to bring in a new style of leadership.

“We need advocacy, not slogans,” he declared. “We need to respect the intelligence of the Australian people.”

Whilst Abbott was best known for his election slogans about boats and tax, he also pushed the new war on Iraq with little more than innuendo and cheap sloganeering. This is also how he pushed the new war on Syria.

If Turnbull is serious about respecting the intelligence of Australians, why doesn’t he start by seriously debating the war on Syria? An easy place to start is in the Senate, which is a place one would think is expected to discuss those sorts of issues.

Labor and Libs will both agree to send ground troops into Syria.

Both leaders are war whores.

The war was always a good excuse for running a deficit. Besides we don't have much in the way of mining now and the real estate fairy is almost dead, so it would be a good time to launch into a full blown war economy.

Because it's not a war on Syria, ignoramus. It's a fight against a terrorist cult called Islamic State.

It was until you sided with Russia and Assad and supported Russia's bombing on US supported non IS troops aiming to overthrow Assad in Syria.

The company you keep !

Now you oppose US supported troops in Syria ... you oppose the US?

Thank God for Putin.

What 'US advisors' -? What can these 'advisors' tell the locals about the situation they're facing in their own country?

Putin is the only one realistic enough to know that by removing Assad this would lead to a far worse situation than keeping him in power.

And that's why he's been firing upon both ISIS and the 'rebels' who want to install a fundamentalist Islamic government in place of Assad.

Based on the background of the person who started this thread - ground troop would emit less carbon emission so ground troop is a good idea

Ending the Greens cult in Syria before they can get above single figures in the polls.

I have no idea what you consider to be the truth since you are trying to not discuss the topic.

I take this diversion as an attempt to hide your ignorance.

If this is the truth, then I get a gist of your pain.

Ground Troops emits less emissions than air strikes - based on that fact alone the Greens would support ground troops. Greens prefer losing Australian lives rather than emit more carbon
