Title: For those who attack Rhinehart on tax.

Just thought you might like to know that over the past five years, Gina's mining business paid $2.9bn in tax. Thats far in excess of what any other Australian business paid the taxman.

Here's one. I can't remember where I found the others. But she's paid well over $500m in tax each year for the past 5 years or so...

In terms of the mining business it doesn't matter. GST is an input credit.

If the amount of tax she has paid is the correct and honest amount for the money the business earnt, then well done.   We also have to take into account subsidies paid by the australian taxpayer to assist the business.

You also have to take into account the fact she buys Australian, mines in Australia, employs Australians and pays her taxes in Australia (as do her employees). The amount of tax she's paid over the past decade would probably pay for the Collins submarine fleet.

They build private jets in Oz?  All the equipment in Oz?

I think a full review of income etc needs to be undertaken.... not just a bald figure.
