Resettlement of 12,000 Middle East refugees to cost $700m


The resettlement of 12,000 refugees from the war-ravaged Middle East is expected to cost between $600 million and $700m and take more than two years.

Announced on September 9, the one-off special intake of asylum-seekers was one of the final acts of Tony Abbott’s government and precipitated an urgent summit with the Australian leaders of Eastern Christian denominations on September 12.

Seems the billion a year off shore concentration camps and the $55 plus millions spent to resettle three refugee in Cambodia  now seem like a squandering of a lot of your cash.

I share the sentiment, I too would at the very least have all religious people undergo psychiatric evaluation.  However, the problem is that we live in a democracy with a constitution that expressly allows a freedom to practice any religion of your choice.  And with that, if we are to continue western traditions then no matter how many times a small percentage of Muslims try to kill us, our job is to treat the vast majority like we would Christians or Jews.  That being said, in my books that would involve electric shock therapy for all of them ;)

At $700,000,000 dollars 12,000 syrians can go fkemselves as far as I am concerned.

We have our own homeless and needs here without being overloaded clearly by a non screened muslim bowl or turds.
