Title: FTTh in China makes us a living 21st century joke:

China isn't doing FTTN. One province in China, Guangdong, is doing a comparatively small FTTN deployment. China, as a whole, is going from 94 million premises on FTTH by the end of 2012 to 129 million by the end of this year. FTTH is mandated for all new premises. All of them. The number of FTTH connections alone being built by China this year is more than what the total of FTTN connections world-wide will be by about 2015, according to iDATE.

1. my home in China got 100mb/s ethernet connection in 2003. I don't know why should I need to be upgraded to FTTx.
2. The internet there is basically an intranet, so no Google or Wiki available. Local content are mainly bull poo till today.
3. NBN is a joke. It's a socialist welfare and corruption project. Nothing related to technology.

Tax payer's money should not be used for things like this. The speed they deploy their network is also a shame. What ever good technology becomes poo in their hands.

The real NBN did not use any taxpayers’ money.

The speed of deployment was doubled when they used Project Fox in the Melton, Vic, rollout.

The current MTM mess IS paid for by taxpayers and has basically done nothing for two years.

So, which one were you whinging about?

Provision of essential infrastructure is the job of government! The NBN will surely never be rolled out by private enterprise, hasn’t been for 20 years.

If I memory is not wrong, the NBN thing was started from 2009? It's end of 2015 now. how many users or say connections are on the NBN network? any figures?
