Not one bit, but I doubt that matters.  Beazley, as Defence Minister, would have had a connection with the US, and he is a top bloke.  I think The Arab is as well, and he'll be fine in that role.  Fact is, these are purely political appointments to a well known sinecure by way of pay off.

Yeah, I'm not sure about Hockey's prior interests in the USA, but I'll say this for him, he's not an unpleasant person like some pollies I can name. He should do fine. At least he doesn't have to learn the language before going there. Vanstone, chosen as ambassador to Italy, couldn't speak Italian and had to learn before she went ... what were they thinking?

In all Australia's appointments of this type Beasley was the second political one and Joe is the third, this is very much a new trend.

The Liberals have done a lot right since 2013. Scrapped the carbon and mining taxes, for example. Got rid of Labor in spectacular fashion! Oh, and Mr 15% might soon be Mr 10%. That's good too!  :)

I heard he's next in line to be a useless twat.  Something he's very good at, indeed.

I just hope he learns to think before yapping or he will just continue being an embarassment for australia. I think joe is a good guy, just thick.
