Title: Bendigo mosque given all clear
Post by Kytro on Dec 16th, 2015 at 10:21am

Quote:
Bendigo's first mosque appears likely to go ahead after a Victorian court refused an appeal against its planning approval.

Bendigo residents Julie Hoskin and Kathleen Howard were seeking leave to appeal against the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal's (VCAT) decision to uphold the local council's planning approval for the mosque in August.

But the Victorian Appeals Court today refused their last bid to stop the project.

Speaking after the decision, Ms Hoskin said she would seek more legal advice, but wanted to take the matter to the High Court.

Approval for the mosque led to controversy and some divisions within the town.

well it wont happen when no one complains about any other church being built....Jehovah Witness for example...when you look around your small patch of the world  it caters for a lot of religious groups...

Im sure if sprint took the trouble and went for a walk he would discover about half a dozen different groups right near him... who manage to do that without causing him any grief.....

these people I am sure wont be any different....if they are NOISY park in your driveway report them because its isnt allowed...

imagine living opposite a footy playing park where every weekend your street was full of mums and dads screaming at their kids.. ::) ::) ::)footy in winter cricket in summer...

its what we do.. we make way for those who do that type of thing...

We don't blink when the Buddhist wants to build a temple but we protest when Muslims want to build a mosque

WHY?

Because Buddhist do not have teachings where they advocate killing infidels

Your dislike of a particular religion is irrelevant to if they can build a building.

My dislike for the violent teachings of a particular religion is relevant to raising the issue whenever they take action whether they want to put up a building or start a political party

The Australian Federation of Islamic councils has made numerous submissions to parliament for sharia law with legal pluralism in Australia.

The Buddhists have made one submission to parliament, they say our laws are fine they can fit in no problems.

You can do what you like, but they have every right to build religious buildings or go into politics. Laws can't be made to stop them without changing the constitution, and that's not a fight you will win.

Undercover Mosque

Undercover Mosque: "…and he's left there to bleed to death for 3 days"
Undercover Mosque is a documentary programme produced by the independent television company Hardcash Productions[1] for the Channel 4 series Dispatches which was first broadcast on 15 January 2007 in the UK. The documentary presents video footage gathered from 12 months of secret investigation into mosques throughout Britain. The documentary caused a furore in Britain and the world press due to the extremist content of the released footage. West Midlands Police investigated whether criminal offences had been committed by those teaching or preaching at the Mosques and other establishments .[2]

Undercover Mosque generated controversy because it contained footage of British imams making the following statements:

Dr. Ijaz Mian on the subject of non-Muslim laws: "You cannot accept the rule of the kaffir…[w]e have to rule ourselves and we have to rule the others."[3]

Abu Usamah saying of apostates: "If the imam wants to crucify him he should crucify him. The person is put up on the wood and he's left there to bleed to death for three days."[4]

Abu Usamah speaking on the deficiency of women's minds: "Allah has created the woman, even if she gets a PhD, deficient. Her intellect is incomplete, deficient. She may be suffering from hormones that will make her emotional. It takes two witnesses of a woman to equal the one witness of the man."[4]

Praises the killer of a British soldier serving in Afghanistan, stating "The hero of Islam is the one who separated his head from his shoulders."[5]

Abdullah el-Faisal: "You have to bomb the Indian businesses, and as for the Jews you kill them physically."[6]
Advocates violent Jihad against the non-Muslims and predicting that an army of Muslims will arise against the non-Muslims in England.[3]

Dr Bilal Philips on marriage with girls before puberty: "The prophet Muhammad practically outlined the rules regarding marriage prior to puberty. With his practice, he clarified what is permissible, and that is why we shouldn't have any issues about an older man marrying a younger woman, which is looked down upon by this society today, but we know that Prophet Mohammed practised it, it wasn’t abuse or exploitation, it was marriage."[4]

Condemns Muslim integration into British society.[3]

Calls for the overthrow of the British government and democracy.[7] "[T]hey will fight in the cause of Allah. I encourage all of you to be from amongst them, to begin to cultivate ourselves for the time that is fast approaching where the tables are going to turn and the Muslims are going to be in the position of being uppermost in strength, and when that happens, people won’t get killed – unjustly."[6]

Dr. Mian: "You are in a situation in which you have to live like a state within a state, until you take over."[8]
Al Jibali: "By the age of ten, it becomes an obligation on us to force her to wear hijab, and if she doesn’t wear hijab, we hit her."[6]

Dr. Mian praised the Saudi religious police practice of imprisoning people who do not pray: "They send the police, and they say, well, if you don’t come for prayer, close your shop, we will arrest you But if you don’t, then we have to bring the punishment on you, you will be killed, and nobody will pray on you."[6]

Abu Usamah saying that homosexuals should be killed by throwing them off a cliff, stating "throw [the homosexual] off the mountain."[6]

Why is it that despite this "groundswell" of local opposition the protests are always made up of outsiders?

Remarkably, no one has commissioned a credible poll in Bendigo to see what the community thinks about the mosque, so each side of the debate claims to have public opinion on its side. The Bendigo Advertiser tried to conduct an online poll but abandoned it after it believed antimosque forces had hijacked the survey to artificially inflate the no-mosque vote.

Stopping the mosque is like saying to these nuts hey its 2015, time to wake up to your idiotic selves, ever heard of science? ... and them going ahead with it is saying hey come join the crazy seventh century sand people and don't forget to bring your child bride.

Many people from Sydney and Melbourne have moved to Bendigo . Obviously these people are well acquainted with the impact large mosques have on suburbs. Take the Lidcombe Mosque in Sydney. Every aussie around the mosque has moved away. Every friday and around religious events the streets are packed. People have a hard time getting out of their driveways. Muslims take over the surrounding suburbs  and residents start feeling pressured and isolated so they move. A mosque is a hub and the centre of Islamic communities. It's different to a church in that respect. I'd say the people of Bendigo understand this and don't want it for their town.

they have just as much right to
express themselves as they see fit.. as do the Druids.. and people who join nudist camps.. if I want to frolic starkers.. whats it to anyone else...

I am not too sure about the Druids I do think religion comes into that somewhere....

What utter crap.

Being a dickhead is what this particular religion cult is all about, there isn't a single passage in the koran that isn't the ravings of crazy frothing at the mouth lunatics.

Stopping the mosque is like saying to these nuts hey its 2015, time to wake up to your idiotic selves, ever heard of science? ... and them going ahead with it is saying hey come join the crazy seventh century sand people and don't forget to bring your child bride.

Perhaps you wouldn't be so scared of Muslims if you actually knew anything about them. Give it a go. Educate yourself.

You didn't get your prejudice from main stream media, as Islamophobic as it is.

You get it from those loony sites you keep quoting.

Full of hate and empty of facts.

No it's not ... I know quite a few ex Cockies who have moved from Sydney to QLD to escape that very thing.

So they get the okay to build the mosque ... but it should have the stipulation of "no" minaret from which the sounds of a yeowling tomcat with a hot soldering iron on his dusters issue forth twice a day calling the faithful to prayer.

And no taking up surrounding streets as prayer mats if the congregation can't all fit in the mosque.

That would be a very small consolation.

In live between 2 large Mosques. One has a pub across the road. The Muslims  built this monstrosity with no parking so they park in the street. They were using the pubs parking so the pub put a security guard on duty (especially on Friday). They put this mosque on a main road and is a combined school /Mosque. The kids flood out and the worshippers flood in and out  over the main road blocking traffic for kms. They appointed a man to direct pedestrians otherwise the whole road would stop which is a main artery. The housing around the mosque is dominated by Muslims. Mosques are a pain in the ass.
