MORE than a few senior Labor identities have already given up on the idea of winning the 2016 election. Convinced by polls that Bill Shorten doesn’t stand a chance against Malcolm Turnbull, they’re already looking towards 2017 and whoever will lead Labor once Shorten is gone. This may be a tactical error. Labor’s gap to the Coalition is by no means unbridgeable. The current margin is only four points or so. Throw a decent scare campaign or two into the mix, an increased GST, debt and deficit blowouts, orphan children forced to work in coal mines on weekends, and Labor could be back in the game. some wild minds out there think like cods.. ;D ;D ;D |

Yes - we are quite delusional about choosing our PM when the reality is the party chooses him/her for any number of often silly reasons. Jaysus - we copped Tony and nearly a Joe.. but the perks of being ambassador to the US are better and the work easier than standing up and showing yourself a fool to the voting public... better to be in a quiet place where nobody really notices your endless gaffes...... Silent Bill is not popular..... he needs to do a lot more to get into the public eye and look like he has some balls.... Bring On The Republic! |

There is no chance of labor winning the next election. all the polls point to a landslide win for the libs. Turnball is a great communicator and campaigner as evidenced by his continued victories in what was a marginal seat of wentworth. shorten is a dreadful speaker and worse leader. Libs will win by a slightly increased majority.

I think Labor actually do have a chance of winning the next election because of the huge amount of ammunition they have on their hands for when we hit election mode.
I couldn't call who would win, but many of the Libs current policies are basically toxic nuclear waste to any sane public. Cutting Penalty rates for example isn't even popular among Liberal members. |

Abbott could do nothing right I am fairly sure that there was something he did right but I don't remember what it was. Why do you think that the Liberals got rid of him, it was largely because he could do nothing right. |
