Title: Where is the vision?
Post by Aussie on Jan 1st, 2016 at 9:33pm
It seems to me that (Australia) we are stuffed at the moment.  Despite all the political hype........there is not one politician with a clear idea how to get ahead.  We are in a boring rut and it really boils down to a choice between stuff all and stuff all and we cannot even afford that.

Where are the ideas?  Where is the vision? Where is a Leader?

You are income taxed on what you earn - your overall tax burden varies based on your ability to spend..... if you wish to abolish income tax altogether and impose instead a GST on all your money, no matter how or where spent.. you might have an argument.

The reason this is not done is because it is impossible to keep track of offshore spending... ergo you are taxed at the base - on income.... and the opportunity to spend more without incurring tax is balanced by a higher tax level for higher incomes.

The carbon tax was just a defacto GST anyway.  Extra business costs equate to inflated prices on goods and services passed on to the consumer eventually anyway.

The Grappler Party, of course - only we have the insight, courage, credentials and popular support to make the genuinely hard decisions for the benefit of all.

As Your Prime President I will accept the equivalent of a backbencher's pay... and all my ministers etc will take an equivalent reduction.. there will be no more feather bedding....

Maybe just send the polies a copy of Trumps book "Crippled America" :D LOL

Quote:
Donald Trump will outline how a crippled America could be restored to greatness. It’s time to bring America back to its rightful owners—the American people.

I’m not going to play the same game politicians have been playing for decades—all talk, no action, while special interests and lobbyists dictate our laws. I am shaking up the establishment on both sides of the political aisle because I can’t be bought. I want to bring America back, to make it great and prosperous again, and to be sure we are respected by our allies and feared by our adversaries.

It’s time for action. Americans are fed up with politics as usual. And they should be! In this book, I outline my vision to make America great again, including: how to fix our failing economy; how to reform health care so it is more efficient, cost-effective, and doesn’t alienate both doctors and patients; how to rebuild our military and start winning wars—instead of watching our enemies take over—while keeping our promises to our great veterans; how to ensure that our education system offers the resources that allow our students to compete internationally, so tomorrow’s jobseekers have the tools they need to succeed; and how to immediately bring jobs back to America by closing our doors to illegal immigrants, and pressuring businesses to produce their goods at home.

This book is my blueprint for how to Make America Great Again. It’s not hard. We just need someone with the courage to say what needs to be said. We won’t find that in Washington, DC.

lol Glad you mentioned it Swag

"Bias" in my ID is a reference to the way the Feast and Famine Variable is plotted. Ironically though, absolute impartiality is essential to assess the direction of the plot line as it's being plotted, the Variable is plotted using the bias's of everyone else - so watch out ! I can plot your variable just by reading your posts

For a person or community to have a well balanced Feast and Famine Variable, there must be close to an equal amount of both feast bias and famine bias, anything else, you could be in big trouble

The Variable is very handy to check the bias of the media and political parties, Murdoch is an offender and getting worse, while the Libs and Labs are falling into their own trap of "becoming one" but pretending to be different to one another , it's a big mistake.

The Libs and Labs demise will be because they don't understand the how the Variable works. Just distributing wealth is not enough for balanced feast and famine, they think it is, but it's not, there's a hell of a lot more to it than that I've learned by plotting the Variable.

A healthy mind has a healthy feast and famine balance and the Libs and Labs are not quite congruent in that respect with the populace. The length of time they've occupied Parliament, in spite of elections, means they are automatically going into perpetual feast and the laws of nature require a change in thinking after a certain period of time to maintain healthy feast and famine balance. Their time is almost up, if not up now.

What we need to work towards is a smooth transition from the Lib Lab era to the next era, whatever it will be, probably a republic with a new type of balanced politics, not necessarily one of power and competition

Examples of how hard the Variable can bite ....
Mr Hitler and Mr Tojo and Co found out how the Variable works, too late for them of course, but if anyone wants to afford all the feast to themselves, then they'll have to accept that the "slaves" won't and definitely should not accept all the famine. Things can become very difficult when that happens

The "2012" in my ID is nothing more than the year in which the 13th Bak'tun ended in the Mayan calendar. Not the end of the world but a new consciousness started apparently. Still waiting for it but interested in it just the same

The Greens have vision, huge amount of investment into R&D and science, bringing manufacturing back to Australia and protecting Australia's unique environment.

Labor do somewhat have vision, the NBN, Gonski and NDIS were visionary projects along with the "Carbon Tax" and the Mining Tax (despite the mining tax we got was watered done nothing)

Liberals are the party of finance and mining and stupid farmers who want to graze national parks. They are the worst party in Australia from a real business standpoint AND from a visionary standpoint.

This is why of all the major parties I support the Greens (even though they are Orthodox Keynesian Capitalist and not Socialist), they are the only party that has a true future focus and is willing to move Australia into the 21st century. The Liberals are pretty much evil and stupid and Labor are incompetent.

why ask? you would only criticise and condemn any leader who dared to change the status quo you defend so strongly.  listen to how you carry on about a union RC or anything even remotely related to industrial relations.  you want the 'change', but will fight it every step along the way.

even the medicare co-payment was just all too much for you.  imagine if a Leader proposed truly radical changes that would reinvigorate the economy and society BUT involved things you didnt like?  people like you opposed the GST and now it is accepted as  low-cost very equitable tax by all but... yep. Pretty much - only those with unmarked paper bags will even get a look in... actually all that is quite unnecessary since all a government has to do is sideline a few lazy bill to some tropic paradise and let it lie fallow for a while before collecting ... retirement benefits.

Actually the trap door is just inside the door and is designed for lobbyists and ministers/MPs who meet with them...

Imagine the dread instilled by the simple words:-  "The Prime President would like a word.... 3am suit?"
