Title: TAX CHANGES.. TAX CHANGES (read all about it)..
Post by The Grappler on Jan 24th, 2016 at 9:42am
https://au.news.yahoo.com/a/30644458/tax-changes-to-go-to-election-treasurer/

"The government's proposed changes to the tax system will be put to the Australian people ahead of this year's federal election, treasurer Scott Morrison says.

Mr Morrison is hoping the election will give the government a "strong mandate" in the Senate to implement economic reform.

"We have a very strong view about how we think we need to grow the Australian economy and that will be laid out in chapter and verse over the months and months that are ahead of this election," he told Sky News on Sunday."

(Grapper Editorial)..

Must be a quiet weekend day in Cambella - the startling announcement that the 'changes to the tax system' (you mean they're already decided on, but we'll be fed them one at a time so we won't get too startled and won't get to see the full picture and will be easy meat?), about which we are yet to hear one word of substance... will be taken by this government to an election.

So again we are on the horns of a dilemna as a voting public - we either take the feminist's party with their mandated 50/50 nonsense (bet that won't apply to nursing and public service and teaching and all the other 'soft' jobs'.. but everywhere else?  YOU BET!) .... affirmative action by any other name.... or we accept this bunch of bank robbers who will pillage and plunder the general public in the name of Trickle-Down and Economic Rationalism all the while trumpeting about it being the 'politics of envy' when people object to their fattening up their mates at our expense.... the never-ending 'privatisation' (the rape of public utilities and services) and tax cuts while the peasants pay more ... which we all know will never work...

Will no-one spare us from this Evil Government Of Two Parties?

BOTR!!

A Tale Of Two Governments... it was the worst of times... it was the worst of times.......

Mr Morrison must think the voting public are as stupid as Abbott and Hockey took them for....

Quote:
Mr Morrison also said government spending above 25 per cent of GDP was unsustainable, insisting efforts to bring the budget into the black were working.

He said plans outlined in the budget to cut expenditure as a percentage of GDP from 25.9 per cent to 25.3 were on track, with a further 10 billion dollars in savings earmarked in the Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook in December.

I think, you may find that the REALITY is actually the other way around!

Richest 62 people as wealthy as half of world's population, says Oxfam

only higher wages, crackdown on tax dodging and higher investment in public services can stop divide widening.

The vast and growing gap between rich and poor has been laid bare in a new Oxfam report showing that the 62 richest billionaires own as much wealth as the poorer half of the world’s population.

Timed to coincide with this week’s gathering of many of the super-rich at the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, the report calls for urgent action to deal with a trend showing that 1% of people own more wealth than the other 99% combined.

Oxfam said that the wealth of the poorest 50% dropped by 41% between 2010 and 2015, despite an increase in the global population of 400m. In the same period, the wealth of the richest 62 people increased by $500bn (£350bn) to $1.76tn.

The charity said that, in 2010, the 388 richest people owned the same wealth as the poorest 50%. This dropped to 80 in 2014 before falling again in 2015.

I would think it relevant if you want to be crying about the need to increase taxes then it should not be in the same period where you threw away tax income.

GST debate: Scott Morrison backs need for option to raise tax as part of reforms

Quote:
Scott Morrison has opened the political new year softening Australians up for an increase in the GST, arguing that reform needs to be on the table if voters want personal income tax relief and a cut to corporate tax to boost economic growth.

I'll just quote the first paragraph here, it sums it up pretty well.

Hockey and Morrison allowed bracket creep to increase the burden of taxation on individuals. Now Morrison is saying that to remove bracket creep, we have to increase the GST.

The agenda is pretty clear: they have been wanting to force an increase in the GST from the very beginning. Even before 2013 election campaign, Abbott let slip the possibility of an increase to the GST. Starving the states of funds was intended to force the states to ask for the increase, and they have not ever ruled out the possibility.

This government wants to transfer more of the burden of taxation from businesses onto individuals.

It was the worst of times.... it was the worst of times.... A Tale Of Two Parties......

What chance and choice does the voting public have in the next election?  Morrison will tell us that the economy is 'on track to recovery'and is looking good - if Labor get in they will discover massive 'black holes of Budget', will need to get a few mates in at full found AND $1500 A DAY (INDEXED) to drink coffee and shuffle papers around to come up with the Party line already decided... they'll give us 50/50 and the girls will screech for full PPL for two years out of the public pocket  and 50% women in every area of life apart from those already massively over-occupied by women.. if the LNP get in we'll have our pensions cut, our guts cut out by taxes, our family homes taxed as part of pension, and privatisation and off-shoring of everything until there's nothing left and the only people left standing are them and their mates, who'll all be sucking deeply of our life's blood every day.

We need a new Party NOW!

But Rudd and Gillard did not allow bracket creep?  Or keating and Hawke?  THe hypocrisy you show is astounding since you criticise the Howard tax cuts which largely dealt with... BRACKET CREEP.

She got caught up in semantics , she always said she was putting a price on carbon , it cost the consumer more so it was a tax , just like a medicare  co-payment is a tax and just like a debt levy is a tax and there is no disputing what any hike to the GST is , its a tax much larger than any CT.

Politicians lie

and

The first rule for politicians-

Sincerity is what gets you elected; once you can fake that you've got it made.

From the day the Liberals took office they have been solidly working towards a GST increase.

Is the MRRP Mk1 or Mk 11?

Mk 1 - if the price fell the government would reimburse the mining companies. What would that be costing us now?

The bit that is wrong is that Abbott never made any commitment relation to holding an election - he gave an open guarantee that there would be no GST increase. He committed that the Liberals would not be increasing the GST at all.

The ONLY changes that need to be made:

1/ Reinstate the carbon levy.

2/ Reinstate the MRRT.

3/ FORCE corporations and multi-nationals to pay their share.

That's ALL that's necessary - forget all the LNP bullsh1t, that's it.

As far as I can see Morrison is the only person talking about Bracket creep and he isn't referring to himself.

To put it into perspective he wants to justify increasing the GST in order to temporarily fix bracket creep, now there is a great idea the biggest permanent tax increase in Australias's history in order to provide a temp adjustment to bracket creep.

But hold on the GST goes to the states and can not be used to do anything about any creeps.

Here is a government with debt and spending problems, bracket creep adds money to their income and helps towards the deficit, This is not a problem for government at all.
