So? ... As did many when we had such things as apprenticeships/cadetships ...... are you being discriminatory/elitist?

I also did 2 yrs at Agricultural College after that.

When & as employment opportunities declined for people leaving school after grade 10/Junior govt.s decided to hide that by making it a requirement for most jobs that you complete grade 12/senior.

It didn't do anything to improve education standards because many who go through the system today still have poor literacy & numeracy skills.

They even run remedial classes in numeracy & literacy for Uni students.

So going to Uni these days means FA ... especially if you're doing a BS course that gives you no chance of employment.

Uni students used to be known as nerds/ academic wan/kers .......

today a big majority are just pseudo academics & in the main lazy wan/kers.

So, which University did you fail your degree at?  You seem rather bitter towards those who have decided to try and better themselves.  I have a lot of respect for those who take the University route to betterment.  If the pass - not always a given - they have shown their dedication to improving their minds and their job prospects through hard study.

I did two years at QAC Lawes in a University style environment .... amongst those that were doing
tertiary courses

Actually Condell describes the likes of you, LTYC, Mothra et al .... to a tee. What he speaks of is exactly what is happening in our schools & Universities. And yes we do have a lack of Uni students doing sciences, medicine, engineering, architecture yet doing BS courses that account for nothing it seems that so many go to Uni just for the sake of it and believe the mere attending gives them a qualification deserving recognition if not remuneration for the trash courses they select The nongs put themselves & their families in debt with HECs fees for studies that are megatrendy crap. As did many when we had such things as apprenticeships/cadetships ...... are you being discriminatory/elitist? and would you believe a chance for young people at permanent employment. I also did 2 yrs at Agricultural College after that. When & as employment opportunities declined for people leaving school after grade 10/Junior govt.s decided to hide that by making it a requirement for most jobs that you complete grade 12/senior. It didn't do anything to improve education standards because many who go through the system today still have poor literacy & numeracy skills. They even run remedial classes in numeracy & literacy for Uni students. So going to Uni these days means FA ... especially if you're doing a BS course that gives you no chance of employment. Uni students used to be known as nerds/ academic wan/kers ....... today a big majority are just pseudo academics & in the main lazy wan/kers.  Do you fit that bill of past or present? So, which University did you fail your degree at?  You seem rather bitter towards those who have decided to try and better themselves.  I have a lot of respect for those who take the University route to betterment.  If the pass - not always a given - they have shown their dedication to improving their minds and their job prospects through hard study. Unlike myself who was born with a natural ability and guile which has allowed myself to get a good job and a career with prospects.   ;D ;D :D :D ;D ;D :D :D

You've missed the point made about those who attend Uni doing BS courses that have no prospects of getting gainful employment from those courses

so it would hardly seem logical that they are doing something toward their betterment.

Pecker, I think you don't like Condell because he nails a lot of lefties, probably you included. Narcissistic,  entitled and elitist without really being all that special.
