Title: Another Labor illegal immigrant before court Post by Armchair_Politician on Feb 25th, 2016 at 9:00am
A REFUGEE on a bridging visa has denied indecently assaulting a female university student but admits entering a locked campus unit and going into the bedroom where she slept, a trial heard yesterday.
A jury at Downing Centre District Court was told Sri Lankan asylum seeker Daxchan Selvarajah’s fingerprints were found on the back window, upstairs wall and on a bedroom door of a unit where a university student was woken to feel a “cold hand” on her inner thigh and rubbing her genitals. Defence barrister Alissa Moen said the 24-year-old man admitted to entering the unit, trying the handle of one locked bedroom before entering the alleged victim’s room but did not indecently assault the woman. “He did indeed enter (the bedroom) but what occurred once he is in there and what he did is very much in dispute,” she said. Mr Selvarajah has pleaded not guilty to aggravated break and enter with indecent assault and attempted break and enter with intent to commit indecent assault at Macquarie University about 3.30am on February 21, 2013. Crown trial advocate Peter Thompson told the jury the student, who cannot be named to protect her identity, was asleep in her room when she felt “a cold hand on her inner thigh”. “She challenged the person, she yelled, she screamed and the person ran away.” Mr Thompson told the jury a flatmate, who was awake at the time, would give evidence that the alleged victim shouted: “Who the hell are you? Get the f--- out of my house” before allegedly chasing him out. Mr Thompson said Mr Selvarajah was living in temporary accommodation on the campus nearby when the alleged indecent assault occurred. He said Mr Selvarajah tore open the flyscreen of the loungeroom window and then reached in to open the door from the inside. After he fled, the victim called security who searched the campus but police were not called until the following morning. Mr Thompson said although Mr Selvarajah's fingerprints were found inside and outside the unit, his DNA was not on her pyjama pants. The student will give evidence this morning. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/nsw/refugee-daxchan-selvarajah-denies-sexually-assaulting-sleeping-student-at-macquarie-university/news-story/5b608a55ad5746a133e2dba9c7b81e2f |

This is just one of many incidents - rape, assault, sexual assault, even murder - by the people Labor is desperate to bring into our country despite not knowing a thing about them. For this reason alone, Labor never deserves to be in office again.

Monis was born in Borujerd, Iran on 19 May 1964.[11] He published a book of poetry, Inside and Out or Daroon va Boroon (Persian: درون و برون), in 1996 in Iran.[16][17] It did not sell well, which disappointed Monis. In the 1990s, Monis ran a company called Salhani Amal (Persian: صالحان عمل), which he used to buy discounted tyres from the Iranian government and re-sell them on the black market. He also ran a charity scam to avoid paying tax.[18] In 2001, using the pseudonym Ayatollah Manteghi Boroujerdi,[11] he claimed in an interview with ABC Radio National's The Religion Report that he had been involved with the Iranian ministry of intelligence and security, and that his criticism of the regime and secret information he possessed had resulted in his persecution as well as the detention of his wife and children. During an ABC Radio interview, he claimed that his family's detention was a result of views the Iranian government believed to be "dangerously liberal".[19] David Ruteledge, the journalist who interviewed him, described his as "a little bit dramatic."[12] Australia granted his request for political asylum that year.[20][21][22] He claimed that his request for asylum followed the detention of his wife and children by Iranian authorities after he espoused liberal views on Islam.[23] According to London-based Persian TV channel Manoto 1, he had fled Iran after taking US$200,000 of his customers' money in his tourism agency. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man_Haron_Monis nothing wrong ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D you make it to easy ;D ;D |

They asked for it. They want to pretend refugee claims are party political. The refugee convention is bi-partisan. Anyone who comes to Australia and claims asylum (except by boat) will be processed as a refugee. If they're found to be genuine (and not a security risk) they'll be housed in the community. All parties adhere to this policy. There is not one party in government which has an alternative. The Dept of Immigration processes the claims. The minister of immigration doesn't even need to see them. Armchair and Baron are just having a bit of fun. Suggesting refugee claims are political is a real hoot. Mind you, this didn't stop the Attorney General keeping information on Manus from the public. Mr Abbott and Soapie Brandis wanted to play politics with refugees too. It is a jolly world, no? |

Surely you can understand the reluctance of our authorities to trust implicitly the info sent from Monis' home country given their woeful human rights record. |

Well, no. There is a difference between illegal and unlawful. For people to go around claiming that asylum seekers arriving by boat are illegal it is most definitely relevant. Quote:
They do arrive lawfully though. We have specific laws in place, that we helped draft, that state that arriving by boat and seeking asylum is not illegal or unlawful and is 100% ok and fine. if we bothered to check their claims, and process their application, they could quite happily be accepted if deemed to be a refugee, and they could quite lawfully live in australia. We choose not to do this, and instead to torture them for no reason other than to deter other people seeking asylum. The great irony is that what we do as a nation is illegal. its not the asylum seekers that are breaking the law. Its us. |
