Anyway, we agree: Australia was invaded (and conquered).

There was no nation to conquer.......... no war was declared......

So every time someone crosses a border (something that did not exist in Terra Nullius Australicus).. they are 'invading'?

I don't recall my forebears arriving here in the 1850's to 'invade'.. and not one of them ever killed a kaffir.... and they certainly generated many opportunities for many others in this Poor Fellow My Country.....

So how was their escaping oppression, poverty and famine in Ireland and Germany and
Scotland an 'invasion'?

Since they did nothing to the kaffirs in their humpies with their kangaroo stew... how did they invade?

By setting up a hotel chain and (at that time) probably brewing their own......?

The Germans were Jews and got out early... the Irish suffered the Potato Famines as farming families and the oppression of the Anti-Irish Laws.... and the Scottish escaped the poverty of the Heighlant where 90% had a diet incapable of sustaining life and the oppression of not even being entitled to wear the kilt or play the pipes.....

WTS is WRONG with all these fantasist 'history changers' who never missed a square meal or suffered one iota of real oppression... and who most likely rode on the backs of my ancestors who arrived here when the population was less than one million?

Is ONE of them Aboriginal and has a right to say?  I'll bet the Elders say different........ IF they get a say at all....

I KNEW nobody could answer that....

Australia was neither invaded nor conquered, jees some people like hyperbole. Back in the late 18th century The British simply moved in and squatted. Its not like North and South America which involved real military campaigns against the natives.

Aborigines were liberated from the 40,000 year old Stone Age trap they couldn't free themselves from without European help.

And now they have the opportunity, like everyone else on the planet, to participate in an epoch-appropriate life.

They want to be here and they want money, subsidies, beer, Toyotas, more money. Not one of them is going back to Stone Age living. But they want to denounce what they want.

It is the lot of people who are being swept away by time.
