Here's a good example, Matty. Moses writes to pleasure himself. Moses uses hyperbole - extreme, alarmist language. Hyperbole can persuade if it's backed up with facts, but Moses uses hyperbole alone.

When we do this, our views come across as shrill and hysterical. This is because there's nothing to back them up - there's no "weight" to our views, nothing to stand them on. When our views are negative, hyperbole makes us sound angry and paranoid. Our posts make us appear to be frothing at the mouth, which of course isn't true because we're sitting down and typing.
