A SYDNEY judge’s associate was let off a cocaine charge after the magistrate hearing the case discovered the defendant had a character reference from his former boss — a federal Court judge.

James Cowled, 31, pleaded guilty to cocaine possession but escaped a career-killing conviction when his ties to members of the senior legal fraternity were revealed.

Magistrate Lisa Stapleton appeared ready to convict Cowled until she realised the character reference came from retired Federal Circuit Court Judge Michael Lloyd-Jones.

Worshipful Masters have their identity concealed from the general public and their minions use secret signs to signify their 'poor widows son' status to the judiciary.

The prosecution was Freemasons as well and they took a dive in this contest.

When Freemasons are involved in defendant, judge and prosecutor it just becomes social theatrics as the outcome is known to be not guilty.
