Title: Brendan O'Connor won't back penalty rates Post by bogarde73 on May 16th, 2016 at 12:40pm
In a 3AW interview he refused to say 7 times when asked that Labor would guarantee penalty rates.
Labor is all bullshit and don't the people know it. |

Title: Re: Brendan O'Connor won't back penalty rates Post by Redneck on May 16th, 2016 at 12:46pm A Labor government will accept any Fair Work Commission decision to slash weekend penalty rates, but would use its influence as the government to pressure the independent umpire. Senior Labor figures — including industry spokesman Kim Carr and employment spokesman Brendan O’Connor — today equivocated over whether a Labor government would accept the commission’s decision, due after the election. Bill Shorten, who had previously promised to accept whatever decision emerged, today pledged to “intervene” in the case if he wins government on July 2. “If we are successful on July 2, my government will further intervene in the case before the decision to strengthen, only as a government submission can, the case to defend our penalty rates,” the Opposition Leader told reporters in Geelong. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/federal-election-2016/federal-election-2016-shorten-vows-to-intervene-over-penalty-rates/news-story/e928b4c6830643b3bd45615253ed3ed7?nk=c9a0f97913c05f82c9bcbcccd1382571-1463366642 |

Anyone requiring penalty rate protection, vote 1 Greens, in both houses. |

They won't guarantee weekend penalties and that's what the people will hear.
It will tear their whole farrago of lies about being the workers' friend to shreds. |

Keep away from the stinking Greens. There are still a lot of unanswered questions that they are having difficulty in answering

Anyone that votes green is either clinically brain dead, with someone holding the pencil, or a communist.

But seriously folks, Labor is mortally wounded in the marginals over this. All those areas with 600,000 mortgages which the penalty rates are paying off.
Dead in the water which is turning red. |

Liberals are divided on penalty rates too.

not sure what you are so excited about. .. Shorten has said that he will intervene in any attempts to cut penalty rates if labor wins govt. What part of that are you struggling with? |

Don't you understand anything Green?
The schmucks out there look to Labor to protect them on this and they've just dropped a bomb on them. Confidence shattered big time!!! |

Oh dear oh dear. Now Mr Shorten won't back penalty rates on weekends. Looks like their gone now lads.
The unions won't be happy at all. Well, where to now? If Labor isn't the workers' party any more what the hell is it? Just a bunch of union interns in parliament maybe. |

Smilies don't address Labor's problem here froggie.
Shorten and the Labor advertising had previously assured workers they would protect weekend rates. If they can't believe them on this they cant believe them on anything. |

You think Shorten doesnt know that 70% of some Lib electorate's want penalty rates to remain , what more does he have to say when he has already submitted Labors position in favour of retaining penalty rates, and senior Liberals have been vocal about abolishing them , cmom Bogarde , this is something i would expect from Armpit or Cods |
