Title: Christians to apologise to Homosexuals
Post by Aussie on Jun 28th, 2016 at 1:23pm
Gee, come on Yadda, Mr Cyclist, Moses et al.  What on Earth should they be asked to apologise for?  How did they justify their abusive behaviour of the past?

Link.

In a groundbreaking statement about homosexuality, Pope Francis says Christians and the Catholic Church should seek forgiveness from gay people and others they have offended or treated poorly in the past.

"I repeat what the Catechism of the Catholic Church says: that they must not be discriminated against, that they must be respected and accompanied pastorally," the pope told reporters Sunday aboard the papal plane returning from Armenia to Rome.

Firstly, no one outside of the catholic church gives a rats what the old fool says (and it could be argued a large percentage inside the catholic church don't give a rats either).

Secondly, apologise for what? I've never personally attacked a homosexual violently or verbally. I don't see a gay person walking down the street and feel the need to hurt them in any way. But I don't support gay marriage or teaching people that this is normal behaviour. So what's there to apologise for? I can't say sorry because some idiot catholic priest burnt one to death 500 years ago. I didn't do that. If my opinion offends them I can't apologise for that, because I haven't changed my opinion.

I'm willing to bet the large majority of Christians are in the same position. Would never hurt a gay, but will not support their lifestyle. So what is there to apologise for?

Absolutely.

This Pope is an Argentinian simple monk who although delights in his apparent popularity amongst Catholics, does not reflect the general views of most Christians.

And the homos will be more flexible in the future as well, I presume, and I don't mean rectally.

Jeez sh1t loads of people don't like middle aged white hetro-sexual males but you don't see me running around demanding an apology;

I check my 'Give a Fkkk' meter and see if it still sits on zero and get on with my life like a normal well adjusted person.

So should they apologise to Christians for not accepting their beliefs?

I mean, how much more flexible can you get then; "Do what you want, but I don't support that lifestyle". Any more than that isn't being flexible, it is denying one's self.

Forgot to state that the Catholic "church" has a lot more to apologise for.

Gays are the least of their worries.

THE TRUE FACE OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC INQUISITION --
ROTTEN SPIRITUAL FRUIT FROM THE ABYSS OF HELL

Since history books have been largely rewritten, few people know specific details of this murderous campaign that lasted over 1,200 years, killing 75 million people. But, once you understand the unprecedented horrors of the Inquisition, you will never look at Roman Catholicism the same way again.

No amount of apology, begging for forgiveness or punishment will stop people being who they are or thinking what they want to think.
Even the more recent attempt by pedophiles to groom children through the safe schools program will ultimately fail because the majority of the population does not feel comfortable or agree with homosexuality.
Basically it is against the Natural way of things.

The church and many religions openly condemn homosexuality, but rather than being less obvious and presenting such an obvious target, homosexuals want to be out there and in peoples faces.

Everyone has a right to exist and love the way they feel suits them with a few exceptions.
It must be legal,
Pedophiles, murder, Necrophilia, cannibalism etc are not legal for obvious reasons.

It must harm no one,
Pedophiles, Bondage without consent, sadism without consent, beastiality etc again for obvious reasons.

It should not be openly offensive to others who have different ideas.
Openly homosexual, or in fact any sexual practice should be confined to the bedroom where it belongs.
Homosexuals complain that they are persecuted for kissing in public.
Well people, I have news for you, not long ago even heterosexual couples were asked to move on for kissing in public, one does not need to explore ones partners tonsils in public regardless of your sexual bent.
Have some decency ....please.

Regardless of all the lame apologies, and assurances that you will be accepted for whatever sexual bent you have, people will judge you as they wish, you cannot change that, no matter how hard you try or what methodology you use.
Centuries of governments doing this have failed, what makes you think that you can make it work.

Here is a though.
Why not just be circumspect in your love?
Why not just keep it between you and your partner?
How about not trying to justify your sexual preferences and just enjoy?
Or
How about respecting other peoples opinions, different as they are to yours, and let them be.
After all, isnt that exactly what you want?

Too bad that the left who felt some moral obligation to champion the rights of gays and lesbians in contrast to the thinking and practices that christians have held, wont do the same against muslims, particular the radicalised, westerm hating ones.

Its a pity through and through, It truly exhibits moral cowardice from the political left on that one.

You guys have it all wrong.

The bible says it's a sin to lie with a man as you would a woman. What it actually means is it's a sin to tell a falsehood to a man as you would to a woman.

It's the earliest use of the term "Bro's before Hoe's"

We can learn from history.

Then why would we reject Nazis coming back nowadays but the Catholic church is OK?

Remember that the logic behind the Inquisition came directly from a
so called infallible Pope - or whole line of Popes - interpreting the Bible.

Sad,

Why would you say that?
Is it because your perverted sexual practices are viewed with disdain by the catholic church?
Or perhaps because you have no self esteem so you are looking for a way to offset your views?

Throughout time, there have been men and women who, for gratification reasons, like to try different and often perverted practices.

Beastiality.
Necrophilia.
Foot, hand, hair, shoe, toe and even feces fetishes.
Some enjoy dressing up as women or babies or other role plays.
What ever got their rocks off, there has even been men killed because they have used electric toasters, I have no idea why, but they obviously do.

On the whole, these fetishes are largely harmless and can easily be ignored.
But some are more sinister and viewed with righteous indignation and outright anger.
Murder, such as in serial killers with a sexual fetish for killing.
Pedophilia.
Serial rape etc.

The church and its teachings have been the foundation of many of our laws.
And the bible does say that man shall not lie with man (in the true sense not some deliberate misinterpretation of telling falsehoods, but by having sexual relations with another man).

This is and may be today, less problematic than in the past.
But homosexuality in the past would have been seriously frowned upon.
Men would have to find a partner by whatever means possible, which would have been difficult, so they groomed the young.
This is why homosexuality is tied with pedophilia.

Today this is not so much the case, but the stigma still exists.
And the church has definitely not helped itself by protecting priests engaged in this disgusting practice.

But on the whole, the church and its teachings are largely and predominantly benevolent to the population and its people.
Hospitals were first brought into being by the church, as were schools and education.
We owe Christianity far more than we have to denigrate it for.

In the future, I hope to see a community who will accept each of us for our own ways.
But for this to happen, BOTH sides must be able to see the light.
Insults, protests, violence and apologies will mean nothing but continued problems.

If there is any religion who you should be challenging it is the Islamic religion.
Only they murder homosexuals as a part of their doctrine.

But you will no, simply because you are too frightened of the backlash.
You would prefer to attack the easy target like all cowards.

Attack the Islamic religion, I dare you!
Tell them that they need to apologize!
Tell them that you will not stand for murder of homosexuals!

Or just go away

Too many Christians nowadays are "cafeteria Christians" picking and choosing what to follow in the bible and what to ignore.

The bible mentions the sin of homosexuality around 6 times and the sin of eating shellfish a good 11 or more times.

God hates faggots but not as much as a prawn cocktail.

The 4 gospels in New Testament is oddly quiet on the issue of homosexuality. Which is to be expected if you spend all your time alone with 12 men....

However the Nazarene does say one thing which may be a reference to homosexuality

Matthew 19 talks about marriage

Matthew 19:11 But He said to them, “Not all men can accept this statement, but only those to whom it has been given."

Matthew 19:12 "For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it."

Eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men is pretty self explanatory

Eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs are men who foreswear marriage to better serve God.

But eunuchs born from their mother's womb is an interesting turn of phrase. During the time of the Nazarene the term "born a eunuch" was a term to describe "effeminate" men, commonly associated with homosexual desire. It was a widely used term and the Nazarene would have been familiar with it's meaning.

He lists people born gay alongside another honoured class (eunuchs for the kingdom), and accepts them as a natural part of God’s creation order.

The Nazarene teaches that most people are created for heterosexual marriage. But he does not see this as the only honourable way to live. He acknowledges that some human beings have been created by God to follow a less common, but equally legitimate path. There are some who have been eunuchs from birth — made that way by God.
